Crazy Quilter

I really don't know what possessed me to do it. Maybe it was the stressful work day I had today. Maybe it's that urge I get to go shopping when I'm feeling blue. Whatever it was, I stopped in at a quilting store on my way home from work. Just to see what new fabrics were out. I was just going to look since I hadn't been in a while. I then gave in and I bought a pattern and a few fat quarters thinking I'll whip up a new table runner before Thanksgiving dinner in a little over a week. On my way home, the buyer's remorse set in. What the hell was I thinking? I don't have time to get my fall theme for my blog finished and I think I'm going to "whip up" a table runner. Hahahahahahahahahahahaha! Whew, Ok, I'm feeling a bit better having got that out. But, seriously? What was I thinking?

New Mac Ads

As I was watching television this evening (I missed The Big Bang Theory, though, *sob*), I caught one of the new Apple Mac ads. They've released three new ones. The main focus now is the miserable failure of Vista and the release of Leopard. They're hilarious!

I will say that I'm not a fan of the new iMacs, though. There's too much glare on the screen and those new keyboards just feel yucky.

They finally released some Mythbusters on iTunes and Marcus purchased some. Yay! I'm watching one as I type here. It's one of the few shows I've really missed since we got rid of all but the most basic of stations on our Dish.

Is It November?

It's really hard to get in a holiday season frame of mind when the temps are in the upper 60s. It's supposed to be relatively nice all week, too. I'll have to make a trip to K-Mart to find my stuffing mix sometime this week. They seem to be the only ones that carry it.

I had a fairly productive day today. Got some housework done, finally found all four hidden cameras on the iStockphoto Hunt page so that I could get 5 free credits, went to dinner at Hops to celebrate my dad's birthday and found a graphic that I want to use for my new blog template. Edit: Wish I knew about this page sooner. I'd have suffered way less brain damage.

I totally spaced the Broncos game today. Whoops! They even won, too, darn it!

I watched I Now Pronounced You Chuck & Larry last night. It was a cute story. I like most of the movies that Adam Sandler stars in, though.

So, that was my weekend. Exciting, huh?

No Wire Hangers

I feel like Joan Crawford from Mommie Dearest as I write that title, but I absolutely hate having wire hangers in my closet.

For starters, they get tangled so danged easily. There has been more than one occasion where I have broken skin and bled trying to free the hangers. Also, they leave creases in the shoulders of garments that are not worn very often. The worst thing is that when you are in a hurry and tug a shirt off of one, you bend it all up.

Now, they do have their purposes. I have one that I cut apart and bended nicely to pull my hair clogs out of the shower. Back in the old days, they were very handy for breaking into your car when you locked the keys inside. Hm, that's all I can think of right now.

I've long wanted to rid my closet of these things, but it seemed so impractical. I made the first step a couple of weeks ago when I was at The Container Store looking for kitchen cannisters. I ended up buying a box of 72 hangers instead. These are definitely more sturdy that the cheap, flimsy ones I've seen at WalMart or Target.

Now, what do I do with all the old wire ones? I'm sure Goodwill or places such as that are overrun with them. Dry cleaners won't take them back anymore. Anyone got any ideas on who might want them?

Marcus’ New Girlfriend

Every Friday night Marcus and I have a standing dinner date and our eating establishment of choice is a well-known wing franchise. This place used to be on our boycott list because the service and food sucked when it first opened. I don't know if they're under a new owner or what, but we gave in and decided to give them one more chance and we're so glad we did! The place is most awesome now. I'd tell you the name and link them, but after you read the next part of my tale. you'll know why I'm choosing to leave that a little vague. What's kind of entertaining recently is that one of the employees there has a MAJOR CRUSH on Marcus. Fortunately, I'm very secure in our relationship and not the least bit threatened. In fact, there have been many women who threw themselves at him in our time together. It's understandable since he's darned cute, has a great personality and the most gorgeous eyes (yes, I first fell for those eyes!). He's usually clueless to these advances and flirting and doesn't notice it until I point it out to him. Pretty much if you're not a computer or a mountain bike, he's not interested. Anyway, this poor girl is flirting and fawning over him so badly that even Marcus noticed. Sometimes I can tell it makes him a little uncomfortable, but other aspects of dining there more than make up for it.
