Next Cross Stitch Project & Project 365 #12

NaBloPoMo November 2016
Man, I've slept almost all day - got up around 2pm. Was going to go into Rapid City today, but I wasn't feeling like it. I watched Captain America: Civil War that I had purchased in iTunes a couple of weeks ago and never got around to watching with everything going on lately.

I was going to work on my Broncos cowl, but I couldn't find a size 7 needle (remember, mine broke last weekend) and I was getting depressed trying to find one since my craft supplies are totally disorganized. I did manage to come across the project below that I started a while back. Guess it's next - Crafter's Manifesto by Satsuma Street (on Etsy):

Thoughts on Gypsy & Project 365 #11

NaBloPoMo November 2016
Happy Veterans Day.

I'm snuggled in bed cross-stitching and watching TV. I just got through watching a version of "Gypsy" on PBS. I've always loved that musical - I was in the pit in high school. It wasn't until tonight, though, that I realized that my mother was Rose. I'm not going to elaborate more than that on the Internet.

I hid or unfriended a lot of people on Facebook and unfollowed a bunch on Twitter. I can't take the hysteria or venom anymore. My life is not dictated by who is in the White House. I feel good about where my life is going and the constant negativity is not healthy for me.

I finally have a cross-stitch finish. It's Let's Sew by Ursula Michael. Not quite sure what I'm going to make with it yet. I'm gearing up to do a Stitch from Stash project for 2017 from a group I joined on Facebook. Basically, I set a budget for myself each month (in my case $25/mo.). You get credit towards your budget for finishes. Since I have my fabric for my Angel of Cross Stitch chart and a complete set of DMC floss, I've got plenty to keep me busy.

Planet Alignment and Project 365 #10

So, Venus has been very bright in the night sky. A few nights ago, I had gotten off work late and it was super bright. I thought it was Venus, but wasn't 100% sure, so I pulled up my Star Walk app - sure enough it was. I was also surprised to see all the planets relatively close to each other! They have been all week. It's kind of cool. Here's some screen shots I just took. Anyway, once again I wish an iPhone could do justice to night photos, but the last picture is a photo I took from my car before I left work tonight. That's Venus to the left of the Custer flagpole. OK, I'm heading to bed - hopefully going to finish my current cross-stitch WIP. Was hoping the new Supernatural was on The CW app, but no such luck.

I’m Exhaused and Project 365 #9

NaBloPoMo November 2016
I'm exhaused. Between the stupidity from a good chunk of people over the election, the ridiculous practice we continue to perpetrate of messing with the time in the Fall & Spring and that I'm just plain tired, I don't have much to post tonight. In fact, when I got home from work tonight, I sat down to eat my dinner and promptly fell asleep. Since it's almost midnight, all you get in my Project 365 photo of the mountain goats that I pass regularly by Mount Rushmore. You can't see them because the Mama moved in front of them, but she does have 2 younguns between me and the mountain. They are so danged cute.

Presidential Election 2016 & Project 365 #8

NaBloPoMo November 2016
Today the United States elects the 45th President of the United States. As I write this (almost midnight Mountain time), it still hasn't been officially determined who that is, but Trump is closest. I'm shaking my head at the comments I'm reading in my social media feeds. My guy didn't win (Gary Johnson), but the world isn't going to end with either of those two yahoos sitting in the Oval office. Was I happy that this country elected Obama not just once, but twice? No, but my world didn't end and neither will theirs.
