Now Where Did It Go?

You know you have too many electronic devices when you come up with over 10 separate remotes and none of them are the ONE you are looking for. I'm trying to find the remote for the tv Marcus moved into the bedroom, but, no luck. If I can't find it, I'll have to get out of bed to turn the tv off. :-( Oh, the tragedy of it all. Ha!

Bar-B-Que

Dad took me to a place for lunch today that I've been wanting to try forever called Sam Taylor's BarBQ in Glendale. I always hear the ads for this place on 850 KOA and Marcus hates BBQ, so he wouldn't go with me. It was soooooo good! They bring you bibs and there is a whole pile of napkins on the table. I swear I don't know how anybody can be a vegetarian when meat can taste that delicious.

The puffiness in my lip went down enough that my mouth could close, but now it's all bruised and yucky. It looks like I'm wearing a really dark purple lipstick on my top lip. Ick! I also have a bad habit of licking my lips and, boy, does that hurt!

Traci sent me a picture of her new bike last night. Man, I want one so bad. Someday....

We’re Geeks

How geeky are we now? Marcus got a Sony Playstation display (the ones like you see at Toys R Us or CompUsa where you get to try the games). The place he works got 80 never-used original Playstation store displays that were offered for sale to the employees. Since more than 80 wanted them, the names were put in a lottery and Marcus got one. We had to take it apart to get it into the house. I popped myself in the lip with it and now it's so puffy my mouth won't close right. Marcus said I could tell people he punched me. Dork. The only bad things were the power button on the back doesn't function and the promotional disk that it was supposed to come with was missing. I'll post a pic here as soon as we get it totally set up. It's in the middle of our family/computer room at the moment.

Now we get to put the tv from the family room into the bedroom since the display came with a 20" Trinitron. Sweet. I like watching tv in bed, but the other one was so small it gave me a headache.

Speaking of which, I must go to bed now. G'night.

Lunch with Traci

My good friend, Traci (from college - UNC), and I went out for lunch today. We were supposed to go yesterday, but a little too much partying Monday night had her feeling under the weather. I have the best time when she and I get together. I really need to get off my duff and spend more time with her. She has so much energy and is so motivational. She has got an amazing memory, too. She always talks about the stuff we did then that I don't remember at all. She was telling me about how she respected the frankness and confidence I had then. I lost that somewhere down the line. I have absolutely no confidence in myself anymore. What caused that? The gaining of almost 100 lbs., the horrible breakup with my ex, the failed teaching career, the bitter seclusion I put myself in after my mother's death, a combination of all of the above? *sigh* Anyway, she wants me to design a web site for her business. She's a technical writer. That should be cool. She recently got herself a motorcycle and took riding lessons. I am soooo jealous. I've always wanted a motorcyle. Marcus isn't too keen on the idea, but I've decided it's something I'm going to own one day.

What Common Sense?

Well, the manager did finish the prep. Thanks for small favors. It turns out the assistant mgr. did the food order this weekend, but he left it on the wrong guy's voicemail. When the lady called on Sunday for the order, he gave it to her again. The first guy checks his voice mail on Monday morning and instead of checking with the person who is supposed to take the orders to see if an order for this store was placed, he sends the order to the warehouse and it gets delivered on Tuesday. Morons. I also can't believe the driver, seeing that this huge order was obviously a mistake if he had to leave stuff outside the store, just dropped everything off without asking any questions. Imbiciles. Not all of the stuff that was deliverd was picked up and the manager forgot to tell the closing manager about the fiasco. I bet that poor guy was pulling his hair out trying to figure out why the inventory last night was all screwed up.
