iSight

My newest impulse purchase is an Apple iSight. I don't know what possessed me except that I've always wanted a webcam of some sort and Marcus got one, so...

Now I just need to figure out how to use the darned thing. The guys at The Apple Store had two of them set up to chat across the store. They even had them configured to import video into iMovie (with some additional software). Too cool. I guess the days of real-time video conferencing are here!

A Friday Night Off

Wow, I actually got a Friday night off. We've been soooooo incredibly slow at work that the manager got smart and decided to let some of us drivers leave. Even though I need the money and should've stayed, I decided I'd rather socialize for once. Marcus and Mike usually game together every Friday, so I tagged along. Nina made some awesome Chicken Cordon Bleu for dinner. I swear it is the most awesome I've ever had. I need to get her to teach me how to make it one of these days. Then she and I watched "Serendipity" (w/ John Cusak) while the guys gamed. Nina has gone to bed since she has to work at 5 a.m., so I'm sitting here at Mike's iMac posting. When I'm done here, I'm going to get to work on this project. It's one of the many projects I want to decorate my craft room. This may sound stupid, but I really want my craft room to be cool. Crafting Traditions magazine has a monthly feature where they show someone's crafting space. I want to be in that magazine someday. I know, I'm a weirdo.

Have you ever noticed that some people who bid on eBay are stupid? I don't understand the ones that spend more on something than you can just buy on another website for cheaper. When I find something I want, I tend to do some comparative shopping to decide what a fair price would be. Am I the only one?

I decided I need a vacation. Not just from school, but from work, too. So, Marcus and I are going somewhere next week. I don't know where, yet, but at least we're going to do something. Camping, probably. His boss gave him Wednesday/Thursday plus he already had Friday (the 4th), so I'm a little stoked about that.

OK, off to do some stitchin'!

And I Wasn’t Even Drinking

Man, I woke up with the WORST headache this morning. I thinks it's sinus-related. Of course, I have absolutely no decongestant in the house. I stayed in bed until almost 11 because moving made me ill. Now I have to go to work. Ick.

Decorating

I just love Debbie Mumm and Mary Engelbreit designs. I wish I had that much imagination to design such things. My Debbie Mumm Quilter at Work candle and candletopper that I ordered just arrived via the UPS man. I was going to post a link to the item on the website, but I guess I ordered one of the last ones because the link no longer works. :( I'll take a pic of it later this evening when I get home from work. It's so dang adorable.

The New Apple Stuff

Current mood: excitted bear excited
I was just watching part of Steve Job's WWDC keynote that he gave yesterday. I am so excited about he newest version of OS X that will be released by year's end called Panther. iChat AV seems like it's going to be totally awesome. I guess I'll finally invest in the new iSight camera they've developed (when I get some more income). The coolest thing is the new G5. I'm not too thrilled with the case they've developed, but hey, looks aren't everything. This machine has got some POWER! It's fast and it can handle up to 8 GB of ram. Yes, 8 GIGS! The top model comes with dual 2-GHz 64-bit processors. Schweet!
