School Picnic

Every summer Platt College has a picnic for the faculty, staff and students. Last year I had just started classes when the picnic rolled around, so I didn't know anybody and didn't have a real good time. This year I had a blast. I got a little sunburned in our 100°F+ heat today. The coolest thing that occurs at this is the college president, Jerry, lets the students throw water balloons and wet spongeballs at him. I've posted some pictures here.

Farmer’s Market Tragedy

I was just watching "Passions" on my Dish (we've got the East/West coast packages) and the program was interrupted by news of a car that had plowed through a Santa Monica, CA farmer's market. Several people were killed, many more injured. An elderly man driving a maroon car was at fault. Some witnesses think he was having a heart attack. Others say the man seemed fine. They just interviewed the police chief Butts and he said it was the worst accident he'd seen in 30 years. He said the most horrific part was a crushed two-year-old child. How tragic. I really hope this wasn't intentional.

Upgraded

OK, the upgrade went well for the most part. I made the mistake of importing my entries instead of exporting and had double entries. That took awhile to fix. If anyone knows an easy way to clear a MySQL database of it's values without losing it's fields, please let me know. (I know absolutely nada about such things.) Anyway, I went back to an MT default template for now and am going to work on totally redoing this thing. Unfortunatley, I have to go to bed now, so this will have to wait until tomorrow.

Upgrade Time

Current mood: scared bear nervous
Well, I'm about to begin some upgrading to my site. Mainly, my movabletype and my gallery. I'll work on some MT hacks and stuff I want to try if all goes well. So, if my site doesn't work anymore, that's the cause. Keep your fingers, eyes, and toes crossed for me. Thanks.

WeatherPixie Woes?

So, what's up with the weatherpixie? It's been reading 66° for the last few days. Weird. I've also noticed it's down alot due to traffic or maintenance. I hope it can continue to remain in existance (unlike my cool counter or the clock I used to have).
