awake

The Denver Broncos (4-3) beat the New England Patriots (3-4) 31-20 yesterday. Since we were celebrating our anniversary and doing "us" stuff all day, I didn't even look to see if I could get the game on TV. Yay, I'm glad they won, though.
Some disturbing news, Echostar (Dish Network) acquired Hughes (DirectTv) yesterday. Talk about a monopoly. I know some government agency is going to have something to say about that. I just hope that doesn't drive the price of our satellite service up. Speaking of satellie, Marcus is closer to just getting satellie internet access. I wish it didn't have the $600 price tag. We're going to need to get a windows box from somewhere to act as a proxy since you can't use it with anything Apple. How stupid is that?
We're trying to get the dogs shaved since it's bath time for them again. I need to get the carpets cleaned before winter sets in and there is no point when the dogs are filthy. Since it looks like we're going to be staying here (for awhile, at least), we need to get some grass in. I'm tired of the dogs bringing in goat's head burrs and cleaning the mud off their feet when it rains/snows is a pain.

Today was Marcus' and my 9th anniversary of when we offically started being a couple. We celebrated with lunch at Red Lobster. Yum.

Current mood:
sick
Man, long day. I felt like crap last night, so I pumped up on Vitamin C and went to bed early. I sweated alot of it out last night and woke up all tangled up in the sheets. I hate that. That's one of the bad things about having a waterbed with an attached top sheet. They don't stay tucked in. I still didn't feel too well this morning, but I went to work anyway because I didn't think I'd have that much to do. I'm wishing I hadn't--they just made me angry. Of course, they finally got busy at both stores and I had to do more dough than I planned, then one of the stores used WAAAY more vegetables than they were supposed to and I had to prep more of those, then I found out one of the dumbass managers sold yeast to another store and now we don't have enough for tomorrow. Yay. The stupidity never ends.
I was feeling better this afternoon. We even went to
Woody's Wings 'n' Things in Aurora for lunch with our friends Mike & Nina. I hadn't realized that I hadn't been there in a couple of years. There is a location up in Northglenn that I could go to, I just never remember it is up there. Unfortunatley, since it's bedtime, I'm starting to feel crappy again. I've got to remeber to set the clocks back before I turn in.
Speaking of that, I heard on Paul Harvey's "The Rest of the Story" today that this daylight savings time nonsense can originally be attributed to Ben Franklin. I'm sure it had its place at one time, but I think it is really stupid now. I wish they would abandon the whole thing.

Oh, I learned a new keyboard shortcut on TechTV. If you hold down the shift key when you click a hyperlink, it opens in a new window! I love that!
