So, today is the 25th anniversary of my First Blog Post. I can't remember where I originally started posting. Probably Blogger, but I can't find evidence of that. I still have a blogger account, but it's obviously not the one I started with. I was going back through Wayback Machine trying to figure out and man, the memories of my old sites. Kind of fits in with the weird waves of nostalgia that's been hitting me lately. I also have some buried memories creeping to the surface, which is weirding me out. I can tell that by December 2021, I was using blogger via a Freeservers account.
I went through so many incarnations before finally settling in at this domain. I miss the simpler days of online life back then. I'm really not digging where the world has gone as far as social media and anything digital - don't get me started on the AI bullshit. I miss being in an analog world, where people could amuse themselves without having a phone or a computer. Where skills (cooking, sewing, crafting, art) were for personal satisfaction, not influencer clicks.
Anyway, just thought it would be good to check in and mark this milestone. The coming years are going to be interesting. I'm turning 60 in September. Once upon a time I thought that was old, but I don't feel old. It's weird because people my age are showing up more frequently in the obits. My mother never made it to this age, but here I am. If I have things I want to do and experience, now is the time...because who knows how much time any of us have left.
