Domestic Geek

We weren't going to cook a Thanksgiving dinner this year since we weren't going up to Homestead North. First we were going to go out to eat, but we forgot to make reservations. Next, we were going to get a pre-cooked dinner from Whole Foods, but I couldn't get Marcus to make a decision about which one to get until the day after they stopped taking orders. I ended up cooking a dinner, anyway, which was a bit of a pain as all of my stuff is up in South Dakota and the kitchen in the condo is tiny. I think I managed pretty well. The only things I couldn't make were the cheesecake and my shrimp stuffing. I broke down and bought a pre-made pumpkin pie, too.

I was at Whole Foods again today before I went into work (I find I've been doing that to procrastinate going in - I really hate going to work these days), and I saw this magazine.

I must remember to pick this up after the holidays. I really missing cooking and the few recipes I've tried using beer in them have turned out pretty good. This magazine intrigues me.

Ever since Ultimate Electronics went out of business, I wondered who distributed the annual KBCO CD. Since I'm not a regular KBCO listener, I'm not in the loop. Today, while grabbing some food for the day on my way to work, I got my answer: Whole Foods.

I personally have never cared about this, but I know people who do.

I'm in bed trying to relax and watch TV when I'm assaulted by canine gas. I look over and scold T and this is the look I got back.

I have no idea where Marcus is going to sleep when he finally drags himself to bed.

This is one of those things I keep seeing pop up on the Internet in places like Pinterest and my Facebook feed. Since making bacon in the oven turned out so well, I figured I'd try it.

I followed this post about making "Hard-Boiled Eggs in the Oven", though technically they're not boiled. LOL Mine didn't come out quite done in the middle. I think my oven here at the condo runs cool, so next time I'll try it at 350°F instead of the 325°F that I did today. Marcus also complained that they were too hard to peel. I've had that issue with boiling, too, so I need to do a little research to figure out if there is anything I can do about that.

Not sold on this process yet.
