Friday Five

Friday Five

1. Where are you right now?
In my family/computer room using my Sony Vaio laptop, totally sore and hardly able to type from the work I did this afternoon.

2. What have you lost recently?
My mind, LOL. Oh, and my cool. The morons at work totally pissed me off today (see today's earlier post). I can't remember having lost anything physicial lately (oops, that mind thing again).

3. What was the first CD you ever purchased? Does that embarrass you now?
I have absolutely no idea. It was probably jazz like Spyro Gyra or something, but it wouldn't embarrass me as I love the CD's that I have. I choose very carefully before I buy.

4. What is your favorite kind of writing pen?
Anything with a smooth, clean, fine point. I hate writing with medium ball-point pens. They're clumsy.

5. What is your favorite ice cream flavor?
Haagen-Dazs Coffee Ice Cream -- Mmmmm, Yummy.

Marcus at Mecca

Marcus visited the Apple Computer Dallas Headquarters building today. He says his company's training facility is located in the same building.

Managers Suck Ass

I went back to work today, kindof. I got to work at 2:30 a.m., but couldn't get started until after 3 because even though sales were sucky, the managers were still at both stores and I had to wait until one of them left. So I did the dough at one store and when I went to the other, the manager was STILL there (7 a.m.). I go inside, he's doing dough, and he says, "What are you doing here? You're not supposed to be back until Tuesday." I say, "According to what I wrote on the calendar, I'm supposed to be back today." Morons. That better not affect my paycheck or I'm gonna be pissed.

The only good thing about it is I was so riled up when I got home today that I actually got a lot of stuff done.

First Night in Dallas

Marcus spent his first night in Dallas. He sent me this picture that he took in his hotel while we were on ICQ. Man, can you tell he's a techie? Look at all that paraphernalia in the background.

Marcus is Off

Well, I saw Marcus off for Dallas at 4:30 this morning. I was crying when he left. How lame is that? Part of me was sad that I wasn't going and part of me was missing him already. But, I'm better now and I'm going to busy myself with housework and such. He called me when he stopped for gas in Russell, KS (the home of Bob Dole). It used to be a cute little town, but Marcus says it kind of like a ghetto now. That's sad. He was a little upset at the rental car place. They were supposed to get him something like a Taurus, but when we went to pick it up yesterday, they didn't have any full-size cars available. The best they claimed they could do was a Hyundai Sante Fe. That's an ugly vehicle, let me tell you. He's a little excited about the trip, though. There is a Hooters and Medieval times a block away from the warehouse they're working at and the Apple Store is a 10 minute drive from the hotel.

I got myself the Sims Hot Date for my iMac yesterday. That'll help kill some time in the next week before I go back to school.

I have to go back to work tonight and I'm already hating that idea. I'm to the point where I actually loathe the people I work with/for. That's not healthy. Working in a pizza joint is NOT rocket science and it really irks me that these morons can't/won't do their jobs correctly. To me, it shows a real lack of character on their part. Most of all, the futility of it all is overwhelming me. They're not going to change for the better and continue to get worse and I don't have the power to change any of it. I need to do something where I feel like a contributor, where what I do matters. *sigh* I hope that something comes as a result of this new school I'm attending.

OK, well, it rained this morning and it is relatively cool outside, so I'm off to do some yardwork until the nosy neighbors drive me back inside.
