I came across this site a couple of weeks ago and meant to blog about it and totally forgot. Although tagged as an
Internet business blog, James Brausch's writings can pertain to almost anyone's life. He has written several articles that "hit home" as to why I'm stuck and have not succeeded in any of the goals I have set forth for myself. In "
Three Major Causes of Failure," he writes that one of the reasons why people don't succeed is they don't take action. I personally have learned a lot, both through life experience and school, yet I have failed to turn that knowledge into action. "
Attitude Check" talks about the problems of focusing on the problems instead of working on solutions.
"
Creative Thinking… or Gearing Up the Old Brain!" dealt with stimulating one's brain into thinking. It turns out those showers I always take when I've hit a creative block or just need to think are exactly the right course of action!
As far as his writings on Internet business, he offers guidance on product creation, traffic generation and copywriting. His easy-to-read style and practical advice are two things that are going to keep me coming back to his site for more.

When I get home, I need to check to see if I own "Scenes From An Italian Restaurant" by Billy Joel. I love that song and keep hearing it on that Martini on the Rockies station (I'm currently listening to it online), but never remember to look by the time I get home. If not, need to get it from iTunes.
I guess I'm not the only one in this building that likes the Vanilla Tootsie Rolls. There was only one left in the bowl up front. Boooo! Oh, well, that's OK. I don't work here and I really don't need to have anymore anyway. What I didn't know is that there are free peanuts up there. Uh, oh. I told you what a sucker I am for salty snacks.

Marcus is fascinated with
katana swords. I think I first noticed his interest after the
Matrix Reloaded came out. There was definitely some impressive sword fighting in that movie. After
Kill Bill came out, though, I knew he was hooked. It seemed all he could talk about for weeks was how awesome of a sword the
katana was. He has even expressed an interest in getting a couple of
swords so that he can take classes to learn how to use them. Because of monetary issues, I haven't been able to get him one for a gift as I had intended to do back then. I'd still really like to surprise him with one someday. Maybe I could get him a
sword stand as well so that we could display it on our mantle. That would be cool.

Oh, man...the front desk here always has a stocked big bowl of candy. They've filled it with that Toosie Roll assorment. I really, really
love Vanilla Tootsie Rolls. I wish the company would just sell those by themselves. It seems those assortment bags are only plentiful around Halloween. I still don't know where to buy them, though. Of course, I haven't been in a position to pass out Halloween candy in a long time and the last thing I need around my house is a lot of candy (not because I'll eat it--it'll probably get stale and yucky). I'm fortunate that I don't often crave sweets. Salty snacks is where I get into trouble. I found a site called CandyFavorites.com which claims they sort through the assortments and will sell you
only vanilla Tootsie Rolls I'm not paying $30 plus shipping for 5 lbs. of candy. I don't care how bad I want them. Hm, think I need to take a little stroll down the hall.
