Just when you think you're seen every possible stupid thing that could happen at work, here comes a new one.
When I showed up at one of the stores this morning, I noticed that the food delivery company had been there. I didn't think much of it as they are always forgetting stuff on the order and extra stuff comes the day after. When I went in the walkin, it was totally full of stuff that had been delivered. The second walkin had stuff in it, too. There was stuff piled up outside the back door that couldn't fit in the outside storage shed. I compared the delivery invoice to the previous day's one and except for a couple of items, it was the same exact delivery. I tried to call the manager so he could be prepared for this and get a jump on fixing it, but he was screening his calls and wouldn't answer his phone. I couldn't do prep because I couldn't get to the items in the walkin that I needed. I didn't want to use the stuff that had just been delivered as I was sure it was going to be sent back (it was). There was also so much stuff in the way that I couldn't have worked if I had wanted to. It figures that this would happen on a day that I had planned to meet a friend for lunch. When the manager got there, he mentioned that he thought the owner was trying to call him. I told him it was I who was trying to get ahold of him and jumped all over him for not answering the phone. I also told him that I had plans and when it was time for me to meet my friend, I was leaving whether the prep was done or not. I got some of it done, but when it got to be 11:30, I did leave. The manager said he'd finish up. I hope he does.
After I left, I called my friend and she couldn't have lunch after all. I was so frustrated and upset when I got home. Marcus took this personally and thought I was mad at him, I guess, so we fought all day. Oh, boy. This day totally sucked ass.
