Denver Broncos Jerseys and More

Throwback Elway JerseyMy beloved Denver Broncos are taking on the Kansas City Chiefs today at 2:15 pm MDT. I hope they don't suffer another embarrassing loss like the one last week to the St. Louis Rams. I miss the days of John Elway and our Superbowl runs. While I have one of the blue Elways jerseys, I never did own an orange one—a fact that I regret. I never bought myself an Ed McCaffrey jersey, either. Darn it!

There's a site that sells throwback jerseys where I can acquire an orange John Elway jersey. As my Broncos wardrobe has been seriously lacking (I only own one shirt), I found many shirts I would like in their Denver Bronco Fan Shop.

Since they also sell authentic replica NFL Football Jerseys, football hats and other various types of merchandise for all the current teams, there's bound to be something for any football fanatic on your holiday shopping list.

Favicons in Linklist Gone

As much as I like the little favicons showing in my linklist (EE module written by Yoshi), I had to dump them. I'm tired of my page taking forever to finish loading if anyone's server in my list happens to be down. As I have no desire to save them locally on my own server, I'll have to do without. There is also some other errant code in my template from things I've put in there and then taken out and left straggling code behind. If (when!) I get my new design finished, I'll fix my code. I've never really coded my archives template, I realized. How long have I had this design? Geez. I've never done my about page. I've been such a slacker.

Martini 101.5 FM

Back on March 22 of this year, Denver had a new radio station come in existance, KTNI 101.5 FM. They call themselves "Martini on the Rockies". I generally like the mix of music they're trying to make. They play Brian Setzer Orchestra, Harry Connick, Jr., Frank Sinatra, Norah Jones, etc. Their playlist is not huge; in fact, I have to switch away sometimes because I get a little sick of hearing the same stuff over and over. But hey, that's true of just about every station in the radio market these days. I'm not sure where they broadcast from (the commercial on air says Stasburg?), but the signal can get weak in various parts of Denver. Anywho, they play this one song that I really like called "The Dog Song" by Nellie McKay (lyrics in the extended). I was lamenting that I hadn't won a Blingo iTunes gift certificate in quite awhile and was sad that I couldn't download that song. Well, in today's mail came an iTunes gift card for my birthday from my friend Chrissy! Thanks, woman! So, I got it. Yay!!

Thursday Thirteen 58/6

Thirteen Things Cluttering My Desk Right Now

  1. Marcus' Camera that I borrowed. I borrowed it to take pictures of my birthday presents earlier this week. Mine still doesn't focus well. I suppose I'll have to get a new one.
  2. My coffee mug almost full of coffee. I forgot to finish drinking it this morning. I'm sure the milk has soured from the coffee acid by now.
  3. A breakdown of the hours I worked this week. I need to report them to the unemployment office on Sunday.
  4. A complimentary notepad from Marcus' place of employment. Hey, the stuff was free for visitors--I was visiting. I have a couple of big calendars, too.
  5. An application for the upcoming Capitol Hill People's Fair Image Contest. I'd really like to enter. I keep missing the deadline, or I get really sick, or they cancel the contest (like last year). The prize is $300 plus some t-shirts and passes to the fair. Not a way to get rich, but it would be nice to be able to put that I won something on my resume.
  6. A stack of blank CDs I found while cleaning. I have no idea where they came from.
  7. A bunch of receipts. They fell out of my wallet when I wrote my car payment check.
  8. A list of job search web sites. Not that they're helping much.
  9. A pair of socks that I keep forgetting to put in the laundry. I always take my socks off back here in my craft/computer room. I need to stop doing that.
  10. Bank statements that I need to balance my checkbook. I haven't balanced my checkbook since I lost my job. I should really do that, though it's not hard to lose track of no money.
  11. Five cross-stitch patterns that I need to scan. I always print out a duplicate copy of any pattern before I start stitching so that I can write on it and I won't ruin the original.
  12. A couple of 3M Command hooks. They're to hang up a sign I'm making (if I ever finish it).
  13. My business card from my silk screening job. I figured I'd keep one for awhile. It was from my first "design" job, afterall. Damn, I miss working there.

Link of the Day

Ever since I worked at the screenprinter, I've been enamored with the idea of selling shrits online. I've got a problem with Cafepress' TOS, so I'm looking for other alternatives (to actually having them printed and shipped myself). I found a link to a site called Spreadshirt. Must look into this site this weekend.
