I'd better get the job I interviewed for today. He said he'd let me know Monday if I would be called back for a practical 2nd interview and then he needed the job filled by the end of next week. So, we'll see. I've got the song "I Hope I Get it" from A Chorus Line running through my head right now.
OK, everybody. It's not done, but it's close. I am really out of practice with this web coding stuff. I haven't done any serious coding in almost two years. Use it or lose it—I guess I've lost it. I've got some things I need to mess with with the sidebar and other templates, but it's pretty close. I've actually GOT AN INTERVIEW today at 11 am, so I'll work on tweaking this thing after that. I was going to stay offline until it was finished, but I totally forgot about the paid blogging posts still needing to be approved. Please don't alert me to problems just yet...I know there are many. Thanks for your patience.
I'm going to try and update this site's template today. Things may go wonky here and there or it may be down for extended periods of time. Bear with me. I'll let you know when I'm finished and then please let me know if you come across anything that doesn't work then. Have a great day, everybody!
If you didn't already know, Colleen is partipating in a 60 mile 3-Day walk for The Susan G. Komen Breast Cancer Foundation this weekend in Philadelphia. She is very close to her goal of $2200 in pledges, so if you can help out, please visit her 3DayMom site for information and the link to donate.
The contest was a nice diversion from this whole unemployment mess. I finally got a response to one of my many resumes out there, but once again, it's for a job that's a contract "as needed" basis. I need stability with a set minimum income. If I had known things had gotten this bad, I wouldn't have been so quick to tell my old place of employment that I wanted to leave. Granted, I don't see that company staying around for the long term, either, but at least I would've been employed while trying to figure out where to go next. *sigh*
It appears this is the future for graphic designers. These companies don't want to have full time employees that require benefits and taxes and such. I'm not working for $10/hour or less if I'm responsible for paying all of my own taxes out of it. I made more money as a pizza insider than that, never mind what I made as a driver. I'm so tired of it! I went to school and I've got skills—I deserve to be paid for the use of those skills. I've started looking into other fields, but I don't know what the hell I want to do.
