Current mood:
sick
Man, long day. I felt like crap last night, so I pumped up on Vitamin C and went to bed early. I sweated alot of it out last night and woke up all tangled up in the sheets. I hate that. That's one of the bad things about having a waterbed with an attached top sheet. They don't stay tucked in. I still didn't feel too well this morning, but I went to work anyway because I didn't think I'd have that much to do. I'm wishing I hadn't--they just made me angry. Of course, they finally got busy at both stores and I had to do more dough than I planned, then one of the stores used WAAAY more vegetables than they were supposed to and I had to prep more of those, then I found out one of the dumbass managers sold yeast to another store and now we don't have enough for tomorrow. Yay. The stupidity never ends.
I was feeling better this afternoon. We even went to
Woody's Wings 'n' Things in Aurora for lunch with our friends Mike & Nina. I hadn't realized that I hadn't been there in a couple of years. There is a location up in Northglenn that I could go to, I just never remember it is up there. Unfortunatley, since it's bedtime, I'm starting to feel crappy again. I've got to remeber to set the clocks back before I turn in.
Speaking of that, I heard on Paul Harvey's "The Rest of the Story" today that this daylight savings time nonsense can originally be attributed to Ben Franklin. I'm sure it had its place at one time, but I think it is really stupid now. I wish they would abandon the whole thing.

Oh, I learned a new keyboard shortcut on TechTV. If you hold down the shift key when you click a hyperlink, it opens in a new window! I love that!

Current mood:
pissed off
I'm so mad at myself.
Leo Laporte from TechTv's The Screensavers was supposed to be on the "Regis and Kelly" show today. I remembered to set the VCR, set the dish receiver to autotune and then forgot to leave the surround sound tuner on. ARGH! Too many devices. So, I have an hour of blackness taped. Boooooo! I was so looking forward to seeing him in another venue than his regular television shows. Oh, well. I'm a major dork.
Other than that, all I did today was work. The dough that was made earlier in the week with the wrong flour is turning out kind of weird, but still usable. It doesn't have the elasticity that high gluten flour gives the dough. One of the asst. managers that I can't stand wanted to throw it all out. It turns out he was the guy who put the food order away on Monday. He apparantly noticed it was the wrong flour, but decided not to do anything about it. I told the head manager today that if that guy wanted to throw the dough out, more power to him, but he'd better remake it. I'm not going to do it. Losers.
Well, I'm not feeling too well, so I'm going to go lie down on the couch and try to find something decent to watch on television. On a Friday night, that might be a miracle. I really need to fix some stuff on my web site that I've been neglecting. Maybe tomorrow.

Note about Friends: Here we go again. Didn't we have this storyline with Ross and Rachael a few years ago? One of the two of them longing for the other. Wanting to tell the other only to find him/her with someone else. The only difference this time is they've already been together, married, divorced and now going to have a kid. I really like the show, but what kind of message does this send to kids?

I love watching
TechTv's "The Screensavers". Not only are the hosts totally funny, but you find links to things that you can't live without. An example is the online
Lite Brite. I never got to have one of these as a little kid. I was so jealous of all the kids I knew that had them. Now I have my own virtual one (until all the traffic from being linked on TechTv causes servers to crash, etc). They mentioned a site about
"people for the unethical treatment of pumpkins", but alas, the hits have caused that page to go down already. I'll have to check back on that one later, I guess.
Well, Marcus is on his way home from work for an evening of Survivor, Friends, and CSI. Must get a pizza from Freshway since I am not in any mood whatsoever to do any type of food preparation.
