Park Meadows Apple Store

While purusing the Apple employment site for me yesterday, Marcus noticed that they are now hiring for a Park Meadows location. I wonder where over there they are planning to put it? I hope it's not in the mall itself. I hate going into that place. Anyway, sometime in the next few months, looks like we're going to another Apple Store opening!

Boulder Apple Store Opening

29th Street Apple Store MapAfter much pushing on Mike's and my parts, we got Marcus to accompany us to the grand opening of the new Apple Store yesterday morning at Boulder's new Twenty Ninth Street mall. You see, Marcus has this thing against Boulder and didn't want to set foot within it. His love of Apple won out, though, so off we all went.

That's a nice outdoor mall. The decor and architecture is really beautiful. Pair that with scenery of the flatirons and it was breathtaking. Someday, after procuring a new job so that I will have money, I think I'll take the trek back up there and check it out in more detail.

I took pictures until Marcus' camera battery died. Go check them out in the Boulder Apple Store Opening Gallery.

In addition, someone else posted pictures from the event. Go check out the photos at Mile Hi Mac. We ended up in 3 or 4 of the shots of the crowds. Look for Mike's bright red Detroit Red Wings cap!

My Lost iTunes

Hey, guess what? My iTunes songs are all back.

I was really upset about losing them and was googling for others to comiserate with. I came across this article and it said that Apple will let you redownload if you ask really nice. I figured it couldn't hurt. I filled out the email form on Apple's support page, included all of the order numbers that contained the missing songs, added a "Pretty, pretty please" (Yes, I did) and yesterday I received an email from Apple support saying:
I'm sorry to hear that you lost your iTunes Store purchases. I know how distressing that can be, so I've made all of the content you lost available for you to download again, free of charge. Please understand that Apple does not offer protection against the loss of your purchases, so this is a one-time exception.
Yay!!!

iPod Bit the Dust

Why does it seem that everything breaks or falls apart when you have no money?

My poor old iPod is toast. I plugged it in at work the other day and it wouldn't mount. Here at home, I got it to mount a couple of times to start transferring data off of it, but it kept crashing my Finder. I managed to get all but the music off of it. *sigh* It's the same problem I had before. The firewire port comes loose from the motherboard. Since Marcus no longer works at his old place of employment, there is nobody to fix it this time. Oh, well. I did get almost three more years' use out of it. I just wish I could've backed up my iTunes library first. There seem to be IDE adapters on the market for these 1.8" ipod drives. Maybe when I have some money again, I'll try one.

UPDATE: Well, I held the firewire cable just right to transfer the music folder. I couldn't move my hand for over 10 minutes. OW! At least I can rest easy that I got all of my stuff off the ipod.
