Well, at least today is going better than yesterday.
We went to CompUsa to exchange the Animusic DVD. Wouldn't you know it...there were no more in stock. *sigh* Oh, well. At least they took it back. The good news is they had a manager's special on the iSight Accessory Kit. It has a magnetic stand (among other ones) that attaches the camera to the top of a cinema display. It normally retails for almost $30, but they were on sale for $2.97. Whee! Marcus and I each snagged one. Now my iSight is sitting happily atop my display, just like at the Apple Store. Now if only I had somebody to chat with.
They're having a Dumb Friend's League telethon on Fox31 today. I'm sad...that's where we got Skippy from. I really want another dog, but I'm going to be strong and not do it until we get out of this park. I am going to blog for them as my charity this year in the Blogathon. I was torn as to which charity to pick last year, but I went with Livestrong because I knew that Marcus would donate for that charity. I've thought about volunteering down there, but I don't think I could do it. Not being able to save every animal would kill me.

Man, yesterday stunk. It was just a series of frustrations.
I woke up to yet MORE SNOW yesterday morning. They said on the news it would snow again yesterday AFTERNOON and since dad and I were going to lunch yesterday, I figured that would be fine. Snow all you want after I get my father back safely to his abode. No such luck.
I have not gotten one single visit on my Thursday Thirteen post I made. WTF?
Marcus and I are still sick. He's way worse off than I am, though. The weekends are usually our time to try to tidy up and get chores done around the house. Not this weekend. Actually, I haven't done much house cleaning at all lately and it shows around here. I've been in such a depressed funk since Skippy's passing. I need to get my house organized.
Since I didn't feel like cleaning, I figured I'd find out what's making this site load so damn slowly and fix some of the CSS issues I'm having with my sidebar. I don't really want to make a new design while this one still has issues. I got nowhere with that. I'm going to have to recode my sidebar from scratch, I think. It annoyed the heck out of me.
Marcus is getting a pretty decent sized tax return this year, so while he was at CompUsa buying himself a new gaming mouse, he splurged and bought me a copy of that Animusic DVD that I was talking about last week. When I got home and opened it up, there was no DVD in the case. Grrrrr!
I missed recording Monk and Psych on Friday. I set the timer to get them last night and when I sat down to watch Psych, the front end was cut off. I set it again for today. We'll see how this works out.
I'm sure there was more, but I'll leave it at that. Except for lunch with Dad, I'd like "do over" for the whole rest of the day.

Bah, it snowed alot again yesterday. I am so sick of this stupid snow. I'm tired of ice and wet feet and chapped lips. I hate wearing a heavy coat and scraping my car windows. The only good thing I can say about all of this is I'm glad I don't work in Larkspur or live in Byers anymore.

I slept over 10 hours last night (Friday into Saturday). After Marcus and I went out and ran a few errands, we came home and napped at least three more. Needless to say, I'm wide awake now. I'll jot down a few things I've been meaning to blog about:
To answer my friend Chrissy's query: Yes, I do like my new job (so far). I'm not going to get too excited about it (I'm being cautiously optimistic), but I think I might be there for awhile. Marcus said he noticed early on into the job I had at this time last year that I really hated it. I am a creative person, but I hated the work I was doing. I hated the personality clashes. I hated that I didn't respect my "boss." I hated the drive (especially in the snow). I hated the deadline stress. I definitely work with a nicer group of people now. I also don't have to deal directly with customers. The only thing that kind of sucks is I don't have Internet access while I'm working. Oh, well. Small price to pay for more money than I was making last year, less stress, shorter drive and full paid benefits around the beginning of April. Plus, I get to see glimpses of Marcus as he runs around the place doing what it is he does.
I'm going to need to find a creative outlet, though. The type of work I do (and will do in the future when they teach me more) is not creative at all. Once I get a routine established, I need to start designing graphics or blog templates or something. I don't want to lose my Photoshop/Illustrator design skills. One of my new coworkers embroiders and is willing to teach me all that she knows. I just need to get a machine. I definitely need more cash coming in from somewhere.
Marcus and I were at CompUsa on Saturday and they were playing this fascinating DVD called
Animusic. It was computer animated music videos. I'd love to get that.
It's really yucky coming home to a house with no dog. I've found myself dawdling at craft stores and such after work so that I don't have to go home to an empty house for long (Marcus usually gets home 3-4 hours after I do). It's oddly lonely and unsettling.
OK, I need to try to sleep at least or I'll never get to sleep tomorrow night.

Wow, I've got a lot on my plate today! I finally broke out of my depression a bit last night and started taking down my Christmas tree. Yes, it is still up. Not a smart move with a real tree. I need to finish that today. I need to try to get some of the stains out of the carpet. I'm going to make myself pack up Skippy's things. I glanced at them the other day, noticed they were empty and had to stop myself from filling them up.
Marcus' boss and her husband have some business they need to attend to in our area, so we're going to meet them for brunch later. I need to get off of this computer and get ready so we can leave when they call that they are done.
It's so freaking cold! It was 0°F yesterday morning when I went to work and had warmed to a mere 4°F as I was driving back home. It's below zero right now (different sites are giving me different readings) and will remain this cold for a few days. Yuck!
I need to develop a plan to get more money coming in now. I want to be out of the stupid mobile home park.
OK, I need to get moving. Much to do. Have a great Saturday everybody!
