My Web Host Sucks

Well, I guess I'll be posting here for awhile until I get moved back to town and set up my own server. Those dorks that hosted my site are moving their operations to new Linux servers and can't get my stuff to copy over (file names too long, they say). Marcus wants to sever ties with those guys, and since I refuse to pay them for this ineptness, I'm going to have to post here. I am so irked about this. I can't even ftp in to make sure I have all my files backed up and I can't export the MovableType entries because the jerk disabled Perl. He's supposed to enable everything tomorrow so I can get my site off of their server, but geez, what an unprofessional way to run a business. When is my life going to fall into place? I'm so tired of everything being up in the air. If something doesn't resolve itself soon, school is going to start suffering. The stress is starting to make my stomach hurt, and I didn't even want to go to school today. While I was there, my mind was so preoccupied that I couldn't concentrate on anything. I REALLY hate it when life gets like this.

*SIGH*

Sorry, there's no good news to report on my front. I'm really starting to feel like a scumbag. Still no new job, can't get my car aligned until I get the money to replace ALL FOUR TIRES (since it's AWD, nobody will replace just the front tires) and I'm probably going to ruin the $700 worth of work that Marcus lent me the money for, I want to kill the dumbass I'm sitting next to at school, I REALLY HATE THE OWNER of the store where I work, nobody wants to buy our house. I'm just a bundle of joy, lately.

I finally got an answer for the data entry job I applied for a couple of weeks ago -- it was a front for a scam. It's one of those companies that will send you some lame work-at-home leads if you send them $29.95. Those kind of ads shouldn't be allowed on Monster.com. Losers. I applied at FedEx for a package handler position on Monday -- keeping my fingers crossed about that one. You'd think with Christmas coming up, they'd hire any able bodied person that came in the door.

Marcus is thinking of moving our house to town, but the one park he found that could take a house as big as ours wouldn't take a dog over 15" tall. Poor Skippy stands about 22". What a dumb rule. My 10-year-old 22" dog doesn't cause near as many problems as most tiny, drop-kick kind of yappy dogs. It's discrimination, I say. Oh, well.

I'm waiting for the WB2 news to come on so I can see if they air a story about a semi truck going through the Best Buy store at Mississippi & Abilene. From the stories I heard on KOA this afternoon, it sounded like the truck was really out of control. I hope every that got hurt is going to be ok. How scary would that be to be in the way of an out-of-control truck? I guess one of the employees got trapped in the rubble of an office or something. Too weird.

SSDD

Well, the head manager is letting the thief stay on. The poor girl that he screwed out of hours was so upset when I talked to her today. I can't blame her. What really irks me is the head manager always complains about the thief and says he doesn't want him working there anymore and yet he's had two, count them ONE TWO, chances to get rid of the creep and yet he's still employed. I sooo don't get it.

On a bright note, school is going REALLY well. I can hardly wait for the computer classes, though. I'm seriously thinking about learning how to paint. I know I'd be good at it. My teacher was telling me about someplace downtown that offers painting lessons. After I find a job and move back to town, I'm going to do it.

I just got through reading "Harry Potter and the Sorcerer's Stone." Yeah, I'm behind the times. I actually borrowed that book from a friend last Christmas and I found it the other day and figured I'd better read it and return it before it gets packed. Good book. I wish I had the rest of them, but alas, I'll have to wait until I get $$$. I really wanted to make sure I read the book before I saw the DVD. It's one of my next Netflix choices.

Thief

Remember a while back when I wrote about the one manager that was cheating the female employee out of hours? Well, he was busted back to a driver to make room for the dude that was busted back from head manager at the other store. I guess on Monday he had been caught cancelling a couple of the orders he had delivered and pocketing the money. The dumbass was too stupid to pull the cancel tags off the printer and the manager saw them. Phone calls to those customers confirmed that the orders had been delivered and paid for. What a moron. He was fired on the spot. He said he did it because he felt he was getting screwed and he wasn't making enough money on the orders he was delivering. The girl that told me all of this was the same one who got her hours axed by this jerk. She was really pissed off about this: the head manager is considering taking him back because they're short-staffed. Tough shit, I say. Hire some other people. I know he's been stealing because the nightly cash reconcilliation has been off ALOT lately. The guy should've been fired for cheating the girl out of her hours and then he pulls this crap. Good riddance, I say. The sad thing is that I can't say squat because I really need to keep this job for a little while, at least. I can't wait for the day I walk out of that store for good.

When Will It End?

I am getting sooooooo tired of bad stuff happening to me. My astrological prediction said something was in retrograde. I just know I am so freaking tired of all of the bad luck I seem to be having lately. Dummy me was in a fog yesterday thinking about all the money I need and the lack of a second job (my car is going to cost about $700 to get fixed) and I sped right through a school zone that was being patrolled my motorcycle cops. Yippee!! I was so mad at myself because I don't normally go that way for the exact reason that it is a monitored school zone. Stupid, stupid, stupid.

I went with Dad to get his new hearing aids yesterday. It was so cute how he had a smile from ear to ear about all of the "new" sounds he was hearing. Yay, Dad!!!

I was so not in the mood to work this morning. I ended up reading my school text instead of making dough, so I have to go back after school. I'm really not looking forward to that. The stupid owner wants me to make all this "test dough." The flour he wants tested is for the Utah store since there is no local supplier there to get the flour we use in Colorado. How about making the test dough in the store that will actually need to use it? Then he wants to switch from wet yeast to dry yeast. WHY??? Wet yeast is not expensive. The only problem lately has been that the stupid food service company he's trying to use has moldy yeast. I can hardly wait until I'm out of school and get a real job and tell them at the pizza place to F*** themselves.

It's cold today. Of course, dummy me left my jacket in the trunk of my car. I'm either going to gave to get a new one or wear my winter coat.

OK, well, I guess I should get back to class and stop griping. *sigh*
