Let's see... what have I been up to this week? The shed is up and hopefully Marcus will post his pictures soon so I can link to them. The team he assembled did a fine job. We're now in the process of painting it and making it all purty.
We just now got the tree branches down from the winter storm we had over two weeks ago. Nobody from the park ever came to cut them down and I was tired of having no place to park my car.
Work sucks...'nuff said about that.
I saw "The Matrix Reloaded" with Marcus on Monday. Good flick. Can't wait for the next one. Marcus has become totally obsessed with it. He does a frighteningly good impression of Agent Smith. It's rather unnverving to listen to him do it. I'm thinking I might go buy myself "The Matrix Reloaded" soundtrack tomorrow. I really dig some of the songs on there.
I bought a cute Mary Moo Moos figurine on eBay for my craft room and when it showed up, it was the wrong one! The seller has promised the correct one. I sure hope it comes.
I went to Mama Alvino's (on Chambers/Colfax) with Marcus for dinner tonight. I was doing research for a school project that I need to do thumbnails for tomorrow. We have to design a menu for a restaurant. Unfortunately, they were totally out of take-out menus so that I could have text for my menu. Damn. They have really good spaghetti there, though. I guess I'll have to find a menu from some other Italian restaurant. *sigh*
Speaking of the Chambers/Colfax intersection, I noticed that there is a Starbucks going in there. Can a Starbucks survive in that neighborhood? I guess we'll see.
Well, I have much to do tomorrow: shed painting, dough-making, thumnail drawing, cleaning, BBQing. I guess I'd better get to bed.

Damn, I haven't written in a whole week. I've been kind of down lately. I haven't made much money in the last three weeks at work. I'm really hating being there, especially since I'm really close to having some marketable skills to find some other employment, but not quite. I really hate being around the manager since he screwed me on hours that one week. One bit of good news is that Marcus got me a small job to do some logo work for a friend of his. It's a start. I've got to keep in mind that I'll be moving on sooner than later. I can't wait for the day that I can turn in my key and never work there again.
I'm really digging the computer graphics classes I've been taking. Adobe Illustrator is the bomb! I'm also learning some cool Photoshop stuff. The best part of all of this is that I'm pretty good at it. I posted the latest project we did
here. I saved it as a .gif for the web here. It looks much better in person. There's a couple of more things I want to add to it at a later date, but I think it came out pretty neat. I got a 100% (A) on it. My teacher really liked it!
Joey and Rachael finally got together on Friends tonight. Yay!!!
We supposedly had a lunar eclipse tonight. Wouldn't know it because of all the rain and clouds. Dang. Lunar eclipses are cool.
Another thing that has been bumming me is not having a house. I miss having a garden sooooooooo bad. That's another reason I've been so bummed. I'll never have a house if I don't make money. Stupid pizza job.
I can't believe it's been a whole week since that spring snow we had that broke all the trees. They say that since the trees were drought-stressed, they couldn't hold up as they normally would have. We still have huge limbs hanging from the tree where I normally park. Luckily, nothing actually landed on my car. We're not supposed to cut the trees around here, so I've just left them. If nobody has done anything about them by Sunday, I may try to get them down myself. Marcus is having a
shed-building party on Saturday. We really need to get out lawn mower and stuff over here. I didn't make it to work in time to make a schedule request last Sunday, so I got stuck working (probably making no money again, *sigh*), and won't be of much help.
Marcus got to go see "The Matrix Reloaded" today with all the techies from work. I hope I can go see it soon. He said it was awesome.
OK, well, that's about it for now. I had better get to bed because I've got thumbnails to do in the morning for a CD cover project. I'm going to do Shadowfax's "The Dreams of Children." It's a cool CD. G'night.

Sorry there have been no posts lately. I've been busy, busy. I'm going to have to find some other part-time job, I'm afraid. I just have not been making any money, lately. I even got the hours this week that I asked for, but the sales haven't been up to snuff. *sigh* Oh, well. I better get to bed. Got lots to do tomorrow!!

Yay, my "new" G4 has arrived safely today and is humming along on a tv cart until I can rearrange my desk this weekend to make it all fit. After I backup all the current software that is installed on it, I'm going to upgrade the OS to X and install Illustrator, InDesign, Quark and my Sims games. WhooHooo! Since I won't be driving this weekend (thanks to A**hole manager), I should have some time to work on it. Now I need an ATI Radeon 8500 Mac video card to support dual monitors and I'll be feeling like a real graphic designer.
Speaking of graphic design, my teacher was getting on my nerves today. We have to design our personal business logo and our logos are supposed to represent who we are and such. Well, she changed everything about the logo I designed. It doesn't represent me at all. That's OK. I did it and turned it in and now that I have a G4, I'll do what I wanted to do in the first place.
Have I mentioned that I want one of the new iPods?
I'd better get some hours next week. I hope the manager's pissy mood is gone at least until he writes next week's schedule. Yesterday he was talking to me like nothing was wrong. Dick. I've made less money in the last three days than during two regular days. I love wasting my time like that. I'd rather be off totally than make less than $20. *sigh*
I've become a bit of an eBay addict the last few days. I like to buy stuff when I'm depressed. I've purchased a cross stitch kit and 4 cross stitch patterns. My feedback rating is finally over 10! Now I can sell stuff as "Buy It Now." Yay.

Well, I've got a temporary solution in place until I can get my archives and comment templates redone. I've created a second stylesheet with my style sheet settings for my main page and used a default Movabletype one for the comments and archives. At least they can be read again and comments can be made. Whew. Maybe I'll have time to fix it this weekend since my stupid manager decided to not let me work this weekend. A**hole.
Well, I'm off to bed. I only got about 4-1/2 hours of sleep last night and I've got more thumbnails to do in the morning for tomorrow's project. My restaurant logo came out pretty decent today, though. We're supposed to backup our stuff this Friday, so maybe I'll post some of my work. The fish I drew on Friday was really cool.
