Why Am I Still Awake?

Current mood: bearmood tired drained
I'm really tired, but I can't sleep. I've got a lot on my mind, plus Marcus isn't home, plus I've had reaaaaalllly bad cramps this week, plus I'm not feeling too well at the moment (I hope I'm not getting sick--like West Nile virus or something). I tried to get somebody to work for me tonight, but nobody was availble. Wah, wine, bitch, moan. I'm really tempted to do my schoolwork from home tomorrow. C'mon, get your ass to bed and get some rest.

Craft Business

I really, really, really want to start some sort of crafting business. I've been dreaming about doing this for well over ten years. This is the most confident that I've ever felt about actually being able to do it. Right now I'm just trying to figure out where to get some money for the inital capital outlay. Oh, and I need a really good business name. Any ideas?

The Worms Crawl In…

The latest worms, like Sobig, Welchia and Blaster, are wreaking havoc all over. Poor Marcus is still at work. The entire IT team is to stay there until they can get the things under control because work is not getting done without network access. I guess the higher ups in the company are pretty ticked about it. Yesterday morning they pulled the plug on all outside traffic. Even my dad's computer had the blaster worm. I spent a good couple of hours on Monday patching his system and removing stuff. Too much fun, I tell you.
UPDATE: Marcus didn't get home until 2 pm on Thursday. Nothing like a 28-hour shift, huh?

Hopefully

Well, I found that chart I wanted on another web site and I emailed first to see if they actually had one in stock. The woman that emailed me back said they did, so I tried again.

I emailed the store I complained about in the last post:

To Whom it May Concern,

I received my order today (#XXXXXX) and was highly upset that the one chart that I was really wanting (HD-6418 Sew Petite) is the one that was not included. I understand from the charge card slip that I was not charged for it; however, the lack of explanation for the missing item as well as the fact that the item is still listed on your website kind of ticks me off. Plus, I had to wait OVER two weeks for these items to arrive, only to not get the ONE chart that prompted me to order from you in the first place. Some sort of an email or a note included in the shipment as to the fact that this chart is not available for whatever reason would've been really nice. Just thought I'd let you know that I'm displeased and will not be purchasing anything again.

Here's the response I got back today:

Dear LaDonna:

We make every effort to write a note on the letter that we enclose with the charge slip. We may have missed explaining this to you. We apologize for that. We have no way of knowing that our mfg. discontinue items and they only way we know that info is by actually ordering it from the mfg. I stock a lot of the items on my web site, but not everything - there are over 20,000 items on my web site - The item that you ordered HD 6418 is out of print and the mfg. is not going to print it again.

Selma

Yeah, that made it all better. I really want to order from her again after that reply. I'm not stupid, I understand all of that about charts being discontinued, etc. I'm still pissed and that was so not a convincing apology. Maybe if you're going to have things on your website that you don't stock, you should have some sort of disclaimer. Maybe you shouldn't put things on a website that you don't stock. Maybe you should've contacted me the day I ordered (or within a couple of days) to let me know that you didn't have that item in stock instead of making me wait over two weeks to find out. Maybe you should stick to selling things in your shop and get your site off the internet. Better yet, try eBay. You're supposed to have the item in hand when you sell on there. Arrrgh!

OK, I'm calm now...

Morons

Current mood: angry bear angry
On August 1st, I ordered this cross stitch chart entitled "Sew Petite" from this store. To make it worthwhile (shipping costs), I added four other charts. Today, (17 days later) the four other charts arrived, but not the one I originally wanted. How lame is that? Not a "Sorry we no longer have that item in stock" note or email. If I had been informed that they couldn't ship that chart, I would've cancelled the whole order. Poor way to run a business, if you ask me. The worst part--if you no longer have access to it, get the damn thing off your website! I am so not ever ordering anything from that site ever again.

I'm a little grumpy, can you tell? I need a nap (see previous post).
