Damned Memory Problem

No, not on my computer. With me. I had somewhere I wanted to go today after I showered. Well, here I am, all shower fresh, and I can't remember where the hell it was I had intended to go! LAME!

Man’s Best Friend

Remember awhile back when all of those Star Trek inpirational posters were all over the net? It seems like everybody was linking to those! Anyway, it reminded me that I had seen an online poster maker and I set off to find it. I had meant to post the picture I made with it right away and totally spaced it out. In the process of cleaning crap off my hard drives, I came across this one that I had made of Skippy and Marcus. You can make one, too, with this handy little motivational poster maker.

Aren't they too cute? I just had to share!

I’ll Try Simone and Elvis

Simone and Elvis bookI've written before about how I'd benefit from being able to relax and I feel I need to learn to meditate. I ran across a Self Help Book I'd like to get called Simone and Elvis: Why Act Like a Mouse When You're Really a Cat?
This beautifully illustrated book of fables and inspirational quotations ... where the reader will understand in a fun, entertaining and insightful way, how the mind often puts us in a negative space and how we can recognize that within us.
The site also features some free flash videos designed to help you relax. I tried those last night and I actually had the first good night's sleep I've had in awhile.

Less Than an Hour

OK, in 45 minutes I'll be getting my Gilmore Girls fix. Woohoo! I suspect this will be the last season of that show. I wasn't real thrilled with last years' episodes. They turned Luke into kind of a jerk. I was none too happy about that.

I spent the afternoon with a former pizza coworker. I haven't seen her since the end of last year and even then it was only in passing. She teaches tap dance and needs some buttons made for her students. Yeah, Marcus and I have a button maker. If you need buttons for some occasion, let's talk! I feel kind of bad for her. She and her husband are in more house than they can afford, she's still struggling with the after effects of a hysterectomy that I didn't know she had and she can't get enough hours in at the pizza place to even cover her health insurance. Totally put my little unemployment problem into perspective. It also squelched that tiny, nagging voice in my head that keeps telling me to go back to pizza...it won't be that bad.

Why does iced tea seem to taste better from an actual glass than from a plastic cup?

Pumpkin Ice Cream

So, what am I doing blogging right now when I'm supposed to be at the job I didn't want to go to in the first place? Nobody there to let me in yet again. There's no point calling the guy because I only have the office number. He's so paranoid that he won't give out his cell number. This may be the last straw. I'll see what I do when I calm down, but I almost left an "I Quit" note on his door. The only thing that stopped me was that I had absolutely no paper whatsoever in the car. Hmph. What a joke. No wonder he can't keep any designers aorund...that's the most unprofessional place I think I've ever worked. I've decided that I'll take any job now, even if it's not in a graphic design/web field. Except deliver pizzas. Since the old car needs work, I can't do that. Is anybody hiring at all that pays at least $12? I know they're hiring CSRs where Marcus works. Maybe I should give that a try. It couldn't suck more than the jobs I've had in the past. His company offers paid benefits. It's relatively close. I don't know what kind of money they make, though. We'll see.

At least I got my wish...I'll clean and balance my checkbook now.

ljcfyi had a link for Pumpkin Ice Cream that sounds intriguing. Maybe I'll try some for Thanksgiving. I'd better be employed and able to afford ingredients by then!
