Domestic Geek

You know, back in the day, expandable themes were kind of cool. If you're not familiar with the term, it means that a section of a site can expand or contact as you make a browser window larger or smaller to fill the space so that the whole site fills the window. That was fine for the days of 800x600 or even 1024x768 resolutions, but right now I have an Apple Cinema Display with a 1680x1050 resolution. Most times my main browser window fills the screen. Do you have any idea how much of a pain it is to read a blog entry that spans almost that entire entry sans sidebars? It's a royal PITA! Even better are the ones that have two columns: one that floats right an one that floats left with no set width for the whole page. It leaves a big huge freakin' while hole in the middle of their site. Not pretty, let me tell you.

When Marcus and I got back from dinner, we were looking at all of the spiders that have spun webs outside on our siding. We were discussing that we really need to get another pressure washer to get those webs off. They really are unsightly and our hose just doesn't have enough power to get them off since our water pressure here is so lousy.

We used to have one and we used it a lot. They are great for cleaning engines and getting the crud of of wheel wells when you're washing your car. We really need to get out and see what's out there.

Marcus and I went out to Fazoli's tonight to get a little dinner as we have absolutely no food in this house (have I mentioned that I hate grocery shopping?). They changed their menu board yet again. It seems like they do that every other time we're in there. They are also started to charge $.25 extra for unlimited breadsticks. Um...ok. That seems like a pain for the person who has to carry the breadstick basket around. Since we got our food to go, I don't know how they tell if you paid the extra for unlimited breadsticks.

Man, I had the WORST headache when I got off work today. Actually, it started around noon. Smart me would've gone upstairs to get Advil out of the First Aid box, but I kept putting it off. Of course, I got stuck working on a mind numbing project and ended up staying an hour extra. It wasn't until 5pm when I finally got home and took some pain relievers. I took to my bed to let the stuff take effect and next thing I know, it's 7:30. We had a really big rain storm apparently and I didn't hear a thing.

Well, Marcus will be home soon. At least the headache has receded for now. I've got a bit of sinus pressure, though. I'd better go see if I've got any sinus stuff about.

I forgot to mention this, but yesterday my supervisor was hinting about something happening in two weeks. He said something about help coming for the archiving part of my job. I couldn't get him to elaborate, though. Am I being given more responsibilities? Will I get a raise? I don't know and it's driving me mad!

What sucks is I can't pester him all next week about it because he's going to be on vacation. Dang it!

Keep your fingers, eyes and toes crossed that it is a raise. A big raise.
