I know there are a lot of people out there who hate Google (the company). They hate how they sold out to China. They think they're too big. They have too much control or power. They hate how they run their search engine. They bitch about the adsense program. The list is huge. The fact is, if you don't like it, don't use it. There are still other options.
I use google products because they work. I've always used their search engine and have customized my search page with news, comics, calendars, etc. I love gmail. I have three accounts for different purposes: one for personal stuff, one for blog stuff and one for ebay and paypal stuff. I get all of those messages through my Thunderbird client on my home machine, but Google doesn't get grumpy with me if I don't physically log in every 30 days like my Lycos account does. I've started using their feed reader and their calendar service. I absolutely love the Google maps service.

I'm so sick of bad stuff happening.
I've had a cyst in my private area for about a week. It hurt so bad, I could hardly walk. A couple of days ago, it finally popped (ewww, I know), but the relief from pain was awesome. The very next day, I got symptoms of a yeast infection. It isn't full-blown yet, but since I have no cash to get medication until I get a check from that loser old boss of mine, that's only a matter of time. Last night while getting into bed, we discovered the stupid waterbed had popped yet another tube. I spent the night sleeping really close to Marcus on his side while trying to stay off the wet, uneven side. I'm so sick of dealing with a waterbed. I was really hoping this one would last until we could afford to get a Select Comfort bed (they sell a model which will fit in our waterbed frame). We can't afford to get one now, even if they offer payments, since I don't have a job.
My grace period on my license plates expires tomorrow and I don't have enough money to renew them. My brakes are still bad. I need new tires.
Still no calls for interviews. WTF?
Grrrrr, dammit!

The hardest thing I had to do when I got my first dog from the Dumb Friends League back in 1993 was figure out his name. It was several days before I found something that fit. There are tons of resoruces out there for human baby name suggestions, but now there is one for the new dog owner. There are tons of resources at
Alldognames.com - Dog Names categorized by most popular, size, color and gender. Suggestions from movies and literature. The site also provides general naming tips for your new puppy as well as trends in dog names and celebrity dog news. This will be the first site I visited when i get my next canine companion.

So I join a couple of blogrolling rings that use blogrolling.com to manage links and now my site is taking FOREVER to load again. I appears blogrolling.com is down right now. Big surprise! I HATE BLOGROLLING!
It figures that they would be down when I'm sitting down to work on styling my expanding scripts. Bah!

A visit to
Leslie's page this morning reminded me how little time there really is left until Christmas (less than 13 weeks). I know I'm going to have absolutely no time to prepare once I become employed full time again (very soon—I'm thinking positively!). I've been wanting to make and send Christmas cards for years and I always put it off. Well, I'm gonna do it this year. If you'd like to have a Christmas card handmade by moi, leave a comment that you'd like one, but send your snail mail addy to me via email—the link is in the sidebar (domesticgeek [at] gmail [dot] com). I really don't want you guys putting your addresses in the comments, OK? I'll put a little reminder in the sidebar in my new layout. I'm really getting sick of this one.

Speaking of Christmas, I've got a gift idea for Marcus. He already knows about it because I had to ask him if he would actually wear this item if I got it. In the "
White and Nerdy" video I linked to last week, Weird Al is wearing two different White and Nerdy hoodies. He wrote on his myspace page that a hoodie will be available for purchase soon. I'm not sure which one they will offer, but Marcus said he'd definitely wear it if I got it for him. Yay!
