I remember seeing the trailers for it and thought it looked like an extremely stupid movie. I was setting things to record on my PVR the other night and came across it in the guide. "What the heck?" I thought. If I hate it, I'll just erase it. Turned out I really, really liked it. What movie is this?
Dickie Roberts: Former Child Star. I laughed, I enjoyed, I ended up with a general warm, fuzzy feeling. Not the greatest movie in the world, but I was entertained and that's all that matters.

I spend a good portion of my time at work trying to identify fonts that customers have used in the past in their designs/logos. One of the best sites for this is
WhatTheFont at MyFonts.com. You upload a picture and their program tries to match lettershapes with known fonts. If that is unsuccessful, you can leave a message in the
WTF Guru Forums and font freaks try to identify the fonts you need. They're pretty darned awesome, I must say.

Anyway, after I post a pic there, I try to see if I can identify any of the other posted pics. I can never figure them out before a guru does, though. There was this one guy today that wanted to know
what the "love is..." font was from those
Love Is cartoons. A guru had already identified the font (the guy was in luck because it was even a
free font!), but the guy couldn't figure out how to use it. I figured I'd be helpful and post a couple of links about how to use fonts and he still didn't get it. I gave up. I figured if he couldn't figure out how to install fonts by reading those two links (one Mac, one PC), then he shouldn't be trying to use fonts at all. Go read the guy's posts...he's a hoot. I wonder if he ever figured it out.

Wow, after all this long waiting, in a little over three days I hope to have a copy of Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince in my hot (not so) little hands. I think Marcus and Mike are going mountain-biking up at Winter Park this weekend, so I should be uninterrupted to devour my copy.
I was just purusing
PottersParties.com and there are a lot more parties listed than the last time I visited. If I go to one, I'm pretty sure I'll hit the party down at the
Cherry Creek Tattered Cover, though.
I meant to post links to this before, but I totally forgot. The New York Times ran a
Harry Potter crossword last Sunday.

I was home sick from work today, so I read some
Harry Potter and the Sorcerer's Stone. Not going to get all five books in before the release on Saturday, though. Stupid work totally gets in the way. Booooo.
The frenzy is sitrring up. Seeing more little blurbs about the release on local news shows. It's also getting harder to get right onto the Mugglenet site I go to.
Still trying to decide if I should go to a release party or not. I suppose it will all depend on how Friday goes. Midnight is a little past my usual bedtime and I have to work Saturday morning and be home for the book delivery. There are only two more HP release dates ever. I really should go to at least one, y'know? I'm sure I'll be in a better frame of mind when I don't feel so darned icky.

Five more days and I just ordered my copy of
Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince from Amazon. Whoo Hooo! It will arrive on Saturday (as long as someone is here to accept it) or I get the book for free! What was even better was I had a credit for $1.80 that was applied to the book. I have no idea why I had a credit, but hey, I'll take it!
