Yay, my counter from counter4free is working again. No explanation on their site as to where they've been. Oh, well. You get what you pay for, right?

Current mood:
sick
I feel like crap. I've developed a really bad cough. Yay. I'll be so glad when I get a job that doesn't involve inhaling flour. A girl at work was scolding me for drinking coke when I'm sick. This is the same girl that has asthma and smokes. Go figure.
Well, our satellite Internet is up and installed. I wanted to get a picture of the dish to post (Marcus insists its signaling aliens), but it started raining early this afternoon and now it is snowing. I don't want it to snow, but at least it feels more like a Thanksgiving week as opposed to the high temps we had yesterday. It was nice to get on the Internet without having to listen to the modem dial in and try 4 or 5 times to get a decent connection. It's not terribly fast, but at least I'm not supposed to get bumped. We'll see.
I got a new computer desk today at Oak Express. Marcus was sick of my stuff (laptop, bills, etc) being spread all over the kitchen table. I had to use it there to be close to a phone jack. He's going to install an ethernet jack so I can plug into the satellite server. Man, you should see all the computer crap we have. We are such geeks.

I've been so busy this week that there has been absolutely no time for updating the old weblog. I'm going to try to recall all the things I wanted to write about this week:
FRIDAY, November 16, 2001
Somebody around here has got either a ham radio or else they have the same Dish Network system we do. I was trying to watch "A Charlie Brown Thanksgiving" and the station kept changing to Ellen and some news station like CNN or something. I was getting really irked. It's happening again tonight during "The Screensavers."

My last day at CollegeAmerica! WhooHoo! All I've got left to do on Monday is a financial aid exit interview and meet with the career placement lady to get my resume out. The teacher of my Unix 4 class was a trip. I studied for a final exam that consisted of 20 true/false questions, all of which had an answer of true. The questions were things like "Linux is the only real operating system." HA! About five question in I started wondering if I was reading the questions wrong since they all were true. The whole class started snickering the farther we got. The last question was "Every question on this test had an answer of TRUE." Too funny. Dad and I celebrated my last day of school at The Armadillo. I just love the burrito surpeme they have. Yum.

Since the stupid walk-in died AGAIN, I got stuck making Friday's, Saturday's and Sunday's dough all at once. Twenty (20!) batches in all at that store, plus another 9 at the other one. My hands hurt so bad when I was done that I couldn't even hold a pen. Good thing the final in Unix didn't require any real writing or I would've been screwed.

I heard the most tear-jerking poem sent in by a listener on the
Dr. Laura radio show. It is called
'Twas the Night Before Christmas. Go read it, it's a tearjerker.

Marcus and Mike after visitng the new Apple Store
SUNDAY, November 11, 2001

The first
Apple store in Colorado opened this weekend. Marcus and I went with Mike and Nina to the new Aspen Grove mall in Littleton to check it out. It was so cool. Marcus and Mike were in Apple heaven. I want the new
iPod so bad! It's so sweeeeet! We even got free t-shirts. Poor Nina could care less about computers and was really bored, so she and I went to check out some of the other stores. One thing I've got to say is: The Pottery Barn sucks ass! I can't believe anybody buys that crap. There was some cool things at Eddie Bauer, but I still wouldn't buy them even if I had money. I guess I just wasn't meant to be "in style".
SATURDAY, November 10, 2001
We were supposed to get our satellite internet installed today, but he stupid installer cancelled. Jerk. On top of that, the phones were down in the town of Byers for the whole evening. I had my new blog template almost ready to go but I couldn't get on the internet. Good thing we didn't have an emergency or something. Marcus had planned a LAN party to game. Everyone except Mike cancelled on him. Marcus and Mike played Age of Empires II while Nina and I watched Snow White and The Mummy Returns. Those Mummy movies are pretty good. I might have to get those on DVD.

The
Leonid meteor shower is peaking Sunday night, but a front is rolling in. Viewing is supposed to be pretty good tonight, too. I'm going to try and check it out.
