Happy Groundhog Day!
Since we got a late start due to my teacher's accident and then I lost a class at at school last week and a week's worth of pay due to illness, I was really freaking out about this portfolio thing for school not getting done right due to lack of time left and money. (I haven't printed any of my pieces yet, done my resume/cover letter, made my portfolio case.) I've lost two good nights' sleep over it, in fact. So I dragged myself to class today feeling totally defeated and ready to drop the class for now. I had a good heart to heart with the teacher about everything and she advised me that time is not the major issue. Apparantly a former student recreated the whole portfolio in less than three days when her infant son spilled Kool-Aid all over it. Then my wonderful friends in that class that overheard my conversation with the teacher started offering their help. One kind young lady offered to buy me paper in exchange for printing some of her things. Then another friend offered up her extra mat paper. All of the kind words and deeds made me start bawling right there in class! I owe these guys big time.
At least I'm feeling better. My throat is a little raw still and my ear drums are slightly irritated, but at least I feel alive again.
So, I guess I'm off to work on my portfolio.
