Meeting Marcus

It struck me that I told all about the animals, but never spilled the story of how Marcus and I met. I was working at a pizza place and we had a new guy working there from a competing chain. I was sent on a delivery and was told I'd probably get a decent tip because the guy that ordered was a friend of the new guy. Well, I knock on the door and this gangly kid opens the door, still wearing the hat from the competing chain. I was like, "What kind of dork orders a pizza from a competing chain while still in uniform?" Well, a short while after, we get a new manager and who does it turn out to be? This dork kid I delivered to. I don't remember how long it was after that we started becoming friends, but he had a girlfriend at the time. After they broke up, we started hanging out more. I remember telling my mother at one point that he was the one. I wasn't sure of his feelings for me until his best friend told me that he liked me. I got tired of waiting for him to make the first move, so I did! We've been together 14 years now and have only had a couple of minor hiccups in the meantime.

Job Hunt Resumes

So, as much as I've enjoyed this blogathon experience this year, after a good night's (hopefully comatose) sleep, tomorrow is back to the grind of finding a new job. I probably am going to have to file unemployment. That makes me incredibly sad. I swore to myself that I would never get into that predictament, and yet here I am. *sigh* Oh, well. I was going to try and watch my disc 1 & 2 of 24's season two DVDs during the 'thon, but there is just so much going on, I can barely get my posts in, let alone do anything extra. How to the monitors do it? Or those guys who were hosting the radio shows? I'll try to be more prepared next year. Maybe have pictures prepared, or some memes in the wings (that don't suck!). This was definitely a learning experience that I'm glad I undertook. I'm glad I didn't try to nap and have Marcus fill in. I persevered. The next two hours will be a piece of cake (unless my head comes crashing down on my keypad!).

M and M Empire

I love m&ms. Not so much the candy...I could do without them, but the CHARACTERS! Especially Green...she is awesome!

It's hard to believe that such a marketing empire can be built on candy-coated chocolate, but it has. Have you ever been to the M&M store in Las Vegas? That place has four floors worth of merchandise!

The House of iPod Killers

An iPod is not safe in this house. First, Marcus zapped his with a bad firewire port. Mine had a badly designed firewire connector that detached from the motherboard, but somebody soldered it back on for me. Marcus got a 2nd one that last awhile, but started acting wonky. He decided to new video iPod and gave me his old one. Well, the one he gave me is broken again. Must not have been a hard drive problem. *sigh* I guess I didn't need an iPod anyway.
