A Little Sickly Today

Ugh, I've got a little bit of Marcus' bug. Feeling icky, coughing, eyes leaking...but I'm putting up a good fight. I've bombarded my system with Vitamin C and went to bed at 8:30 last night (catching a few plays every now and again as I drifted in and out of sleep of the Bronco game until it ended at 9:30ish). This virus will not get a strong foothold in my body, dangit! When I get home from work today, I'll try to get the big tree into the stand so I can start putting lights on it this evening. I really wish I could call in to work because I really want to make Christmas cards and get a Christmas theme for this blog, but I'm not that sick and I need the money. Besides, I really shouldn't start missing work while I"m still a part-timer. I really wish they'd bump me up to full time so that my PPP money could go to paying off debts I owe instead of being money I need to live on. *sigh* Soon, I hope. Anyway, that means I'd better get my butt moving for the morning. Yap at y'all later!

We’ve Got Trees

Our little group to go tree hunting gets bigger every year. Our group totaled 10.5 people this year. Not too shabby. Of course, Marcus being as sick as he is probably shouldn't have been out traipsing around in the woods, but he was and we have our tree. I'll post pictures in the gallery tomorrow. I have to do some serious color-correcting on the polaroid we got with Smokey the Bear this year. We had dinner at a neat little restaurant in Woodland Park called Fiesta Mexicana or something like that. I had a carnita burrito. Very tasty. I had to drive home and I've decided that I hate driving from Colorado Springs to Denver on I-25. There is nothing but a sea of white lights in your face the whole way. Gives me a huge headache. Anyway, I guess I'd better go help Marcus wrestle the tree into the house.

Marcus is One Sick Puppy

I totally forgot to mention before that Marcus is sick. He's been running a pretty good fever for the last couple of days and hacking up lungs. He hardly ever gets sick. We're supposed to go get our Christmas tree tomorrow, but I don't want him tramping around in the snowy woods if he's still feverish. I've been pumping vitamin C into us both because I really don't want to catch what he's got. It always takes me way longer to kick a bug than it does for him.

The dog not letting us get a full night's sleep is not helping. He keeps falling down on the linoleum and then he can't get back up. A couple of nights ago, Marcus woke to him screaming. He had gotten into the back bathroom and couldn't get out. When I tried to pick him up, he tried to get away from me by climbing into the tub. Last night I found him crying behind his water bowl. I keep trying to put up blockades to keep him on the carpet at night, but he's peristent that he has to be on the linoleum. He's driving me batty. I've been trying to keep him awake most of the day so hopefully he won't do his nightly wandering and sleep through the night.

Did Ya Miss Me?

I took a much needed blogging break yesterday. I spent the afternoon helping Marcus organize his office at work. I designed my Christmas card in my head, so I'm going to making those over the next couple of days so I can get them in the mail by early next week. If you want one, just send me your snail mail addy via email. Then I painted some more wooden balls for my crocheted popcorn garland. As soon as I do some posting here, I'm going to crochet while watching Ugly Betty on ABC's website. Since we lost our East/West coast stations from Dish Network on Thursday (all thanks to FOX, we later found out), there are just some shows I'm not going to be able to watch if they don't have them on their web sites. The senate has a bill to allow some "distant channel" services for some satellite subscribers, but even if it passes, Marcus and I won't be eligible. *sigh* That sucks. I really liked having the New York affiliates. Oh, well. We went ahead and downgraded out satellite package, as well. If only we could get rid of shopping channels, public interest and religious stations. That is over 30 channels right there that I will NEVER watch. What a waste. I really wish they would offer an a la carte type system, like pick 50 channels YOU WANT for $39.95 or something. Maybe someday.

Don’t Forget

Tomorrow is the first day of December...don't forget to say "Rabbit Rabbit" as the first thing you say tomorrow!

Wow, look at that — only two days this month didn't get posts of any kind.
