My Birthdate Means…

OK, found another one that's interesting. This is the last one of these for a bit. I don't want to make this place all quizzes, all the time. I thought some of the statements in this one were eerily accurate. Especially the taking a step back from the world, that my creativity keeps me from getting things done (I have so many ideas and thoughts that I just can't seem to focus) and the brilliant but not finding my niche. It's all so true it is a little freaky.

Your Birthdate: September 11
Spiritual and thoughtful, you tend to take a step back from the world.
You're very sensitive to what's going on around you, yet you remain calm.
Although you are brilliant, it may take you a while to find your niche.
Your creativity is supreme, but it sometimes makes it hard for you to get things done.

Your strength: Your inner peace

Your weakness: You get stuck in the clouds

Your power color: Emerald

Your power symbol: Leaf

Your power month: November

Blogosphere is Ever Changing

I have several different linklists going that I made with Yoshi's EE linklist module. There's one that I dump links that are on other rolls where the author has decided to stop blogging or the blog has gone in a direction I no longer find interesting to read on a regular basis. I keep them as a reminder of those people I used to love reading as well as a reminder to check to see if some of them start up again. I never permanently delete a link until the site is no longer available.

As I was moving links today, I got a little sad. So many sites where some monumental event happened and the blogger decided to move elsewhere to become anonymous and I wasn't privy to the new location. So many that closed up with no explanation or goodbye. So many that I enjoyed and have absolutely no idea what ever happened to that person. Isn't it weird that you can grow so attached to the people you meet online without ever really having met them?

Then I got to thinking about how many times I've thought of just chucking this whole project and starting anew somewhere. There are a few people who have found this site that I wished they hadn't.

Anyway, if I used to read you back in the day and you somehow find me again, I just wanted to let you all know I was thinking about you and wishing you well.

Site Maintenance Today

OK, heads up! It's going to be funky around here a lot today. I've vowed to fix the slow loading today so I can move onto working on a new theme. Since I totally removed my sidebar and it's still slow, yet none of my other sub sites on this Expression Engine install are slow, it's something going on in this particular blog. I may break something, but it's backed up in it's original state, so I can reinstall that at any time. Just thought it fair to give you guys a warning and yes I know about it. Hopefully I'll find and fix the problem and coming to visit me won't be such a chore.

I Blog About..

I saw this over at Lisa's site and figured, "Why not?" I'm not in the mood to post real content right now.

Bill Amend Semi-Retires FoxTrot

I noticed a few weeks ago that I wasn't getting my daily FoxTrot comics. I figured it was some screw up on the comics site as it had happened before with another comic I used to get daily. Then I noticed that I was getting Sunday strips. WTH? Well, I finally remembered to check into it last night over at FoxTrot.com and it turns out that Bill Amend has gone into semi-retirement.

“After spending close to half of my life writing and drawing FoxTrot cartoons, I think it’s time I got out of the house and tried some new things,??? said Amend. “I love cartooning and I absolutely want to continue doing the strip, just not at the current all-consuming pace.

As of the first of the year, he's only putting out the Sunday strip. Oh, well, I'm sure trying to be witty all the time can burn you out. Thanks for all the laughs, Bill...can't wait to see what other projects you've got in mind.
