Frustration

Current mood: bearmood — angry frustrated
Geez, going to work tonight was a total joke and waste of my time. A phone call telling me not to come in would've been appreciated instead of making me drive from Aurora to Thornton for a half hour of cutting green peppers. Just what I need when "cheap gas" is going for $1.89 right now. I'm so glad our manager is on top of things and finds out in advance when schools do/don't need to have pizzas delivered for lunch. Turns out today was an in-service day and there were no students. They sent the first batch of pizzas out before they found this out. Morons. So that, coupled with the fact that they're dead at the moment (more about that later) and there was no dough to do at all.

Next, the owner is upset that food cost is at 39% right now. Well, duh, you put out an unlimited toppings coupon—what do you expect? The store is in an area where people will take everything for free whether they wanted it or not. He's decided to raise the delivery charge to help cover the increase. I'm not sure to what as I've heard anything from $.60 to $1.00. There goes another portion of driver tips. The reason they're kind of dead now is the owner suddenly stopped sending out advertising. He's gearing up to launch some stupid pizza called "The Mediterranean." It's some chicken, garlic weirdo concoction that I refuse to try because it has green olives on it. Ewww. So, it's dead and in an effort to save labor (and make up for the outrageous food usage), several of us rush drivers were told we weren't needed. Great. Of course, the asst. manager that the head manager has a thing for is on overtime already and she works all day tomorrow, too. The whole situation is insane. I give up.

CSS editor

I keep coming across this link for a TopStyle CSS editor. It's Windows-only so I'll probably never use it, but I'm posting link for future reference.

C. F. Payne & the MD Dream Machine

Yesterday I read an article about the "New Norman Rockwell." It seemed intriguing and I went to the Reader's Digest page that showcases artist C. F. Payne's work that he has produced for their back covers. It's definitely Rockwell-esque and they're quite amusing. If you don't get RD and haven't seen them, go check them out. The work entitled "Table for Two" made me smile.

I also was pointed to a link that makes me want to go to the Mac Design Conference in Chicago this June more than ever. Conference attendees will be given the change to win a Apple Dream Machine. The specs are so awesome. A dual 2 GHz G5 with a 23-inch Cinema Display, 1 GHz memory upgrade, Wacom tablet, Pantone Color Cue, tons more hardware and software (including Adobe CS)! As of now, the system is values at $11,405.87. Wow! That would be soooooo cool to own. *sigh*

It Will Get Worse Before It Gets Better

Things on the old blog here are going to be looking strange over the next couple of weeks. Just ignore any wonkiness. I'm trying to test out some CSS stuff I'm learning. After the portfolio presentation, I will have more time to really put a new look into place.

I was toying with the idea of putting up a "begging site" to get cash like the chick from Save Karyn, but I just can't bring myself to do it. Is it pride, ethics? I don't know. But, seriously, if anybody has any great ideas as to how I can get some extra cash, let me know. Scholarships, jobs, whatever. I made a whopping $20 at work last night, so I really need some other form of income. I need to get my teeth fixed badly. Is there any cheap, decent dental care out there? Dental colleges? I'm not finding any info about such things.

A girl from work took me to lunch at The Olive Garden yesterday. For some reason, I thought it was a really expensive restaurant. Man, was I wrong! I had the Seafood Alfredo. It was so good. I told Marcus he and I need to go there the next time we go out to eat.
