Corn Maze

OK, in cleaning out my car to get rid of it and going through several years of notes to myself, I found a scrap of paper in which I had written these URLs:

Amazing Farm Events
cornfieldmaze.com

I've seen these advertised the last couple of years, especially around Halloween. I must go check one out this year. The sad thing is that one has emerged with walking distance of where we lived in Byers. Figures.

Directed Toward The Unemployed

Have you ever noticed that during the morning hours on television (between 9 and noon) that there is an overabundance of trade school commercials? In the last hour, while watching Regis and Kelly, I have seen commercials for the Denver School of Massage Therapy(three times), CollegeAmerica, Platt College (twice), Bel-rea Insitute for Veterinary Training, Westwood College(twice), Denver Career College(twice). I'm sure I missed a couple of them. It's the same with lawyer commercials, too. They really go after those that can't or aren't working for some reason, don't they?

Thankfully, come Monday morning, I won't be around to see them.
I start my new job on Monday!
Yay me!!!!! *happy dance*

Good Luck Scott

Well, I guess it's a good thing that I'm going to be employed soon and not able to listen to the Sports Zoo on 850 KOA anymore because Scott Hastings is going to be leaving. His last broadcast is tomorrow. One of the reasons I liked the Zoo was because of Scott's humor. Dave is so dang stiff. Oh, well. I wish Scott the best and can certainly understand wanting to spend more time with your family. He's spread himself rather thin this year between radio, coaching, Broncos and Nuggets.

I suppose it all depends on who the replacement is, but I doubt I'll be listening much after Scott leaves. Especially if it is that CJ Johnson guy that filled in for Dave during football season. Ugh. I wonder if they're trying to get the format back to more sports.

The radio stations have totally jacked me. I really don't listen much anymore, anyway. They keep moving my favorite shows to time slots when I don't or can't listen. At least Coast to Coast is still on KHOW overnight and Rick Barber is still on KOA.

Very Interesting

(Warning: link not work safe—possibly offensive adult content)

I visited this Harry Potter Playwitch link I found over at So Very Posh. Very interesting Playgirl parody. I have one question: What is up with all the fan art and fan fiction that portrays all the male HP characters as gay? Especially Snape and Harry. It's disturbing, I tell you. I remember reading a fanfic over at Mugglenet once that had Harry and Draco as gay lovers. Too bizarre.

Speaking of Mugglenet, they had quite the humorous April Fool's Day prank. I clicked my bookmark and was greeted by this picture:

I was shocked because I thought Mugglenet did everything with Warner Bros. and J.K. Rowling's blessings. I didn't even make the connection about an April Fool's prank since it is still March 31st here. LOL

Kevin Smith Marathon

One of the movie channels (Encore?) did a Kevin Smith marathon on Friday. I couldn't sit all day and watch it, nor did I want to waste that much PVR space, so my friend Nina lent me her DVDs. I did record An Evening with Kevin Smith, though, and will probably watch that this afternoon. I tried watching Clerks, Mallrats and Dogma a while back and I must've been in a really bad frame of mind or something, because I absolutely hated them. I had never seen Chasing Amy, though. The only movie I liked that he had made was Jay and Silent Bob Strike Back. Over the course of the past week, I managed to watch all five films. Mallrats was still stupid, but in a good way. After putting it in perspective with the rest of the films, I could appreciate the humor in it.

I didn't realize it was Alan Rickman (Snape in Harry Potter) in Dogma. (Swoon) I find that man extremely sexy. lol

It amazes me the empire that Smith and company have created around these movies. I guess there's a store in New Jersey (and now in L.A.) called Jay and Silent Bob's Secret Stash that sells comic book memorabilia and Smith movie paraphernalia. I'll have to try and visit one of those one day. Of course, the stuff is available for sale online. There are a whole bunch of associated sites on the web. Not bad way for a guy to make a living.

I noticed on IMDB that there's going to be another movie called The Passion of the Clerks due out sometime late this year. I guess he made another one in the series after all. IMDB says:
One of the things that most prompted Smith to make the film was a promise he made to friend Jason Mewes. If Mewes managed to stay off drugs he would be able to play the character of "Jay" one more time. Smith kept his promise.

I'll have to check that one out.

Anyway, great films they were not. They were entertaining, though. I'm glad I gave them all a second chance.
