Domestic Geek

The Big Bang Theory is my most favorite show ever! I love the geeky t-shirts they have the cast wearing on that show. I've been meaning to (for a while now) figure out where all those great shirts come from. Well, somebody did all the work for me. Check out SheldonShirts.com. I just found out that Apocalyptica is going to be playing at the Ogden Theater on Monday night and I don't know of anybody that would go with me. Damn, damn, damn it!

Even though I'm still kind of upset that 101.5 FM here in Denver changed its music format from the likes of Sinatra and The Brian Setzer Orchestra, I'm finding that I'm listening to it more and more because they really do have an extremely diverse playlist (especially compared to the likes of Alice 105.9 or KPBI 106.7). It's the station where I first heard my previous fav: Panic at the Disco's "Nine in the Afternoon". My most favorite tune at the moment is "Love Me Dead" by the band LUDO. Even though the lyrics are kind of sad (guy has love/hate relationship with his ex), I love the enthusiasm and melody. After seeing the video, I was even more hooked. Heh, I've got my dad addicted to Wii Bowling.

I was over reading Electric Venom and Kate had a bit of interesting trivia that I did not know: Oingo Boingo was on The Gong Show!

I was a huge fan of the group in the '80s. I mean, c'mon, I'm a child of the '80s. I danced in the .32 bars to "Goodbye, Goodbye" and "Dead Man's Party." Who didn't love "Weird Science?" I'm also a big fan of Danny Elfman's compositional style. I love the soundtracks he did for Beetlejuice, Batman Returns, not to mention "The Simpsons Theme" from the TV show.

It was their late '70s incarnation, known as The Mystic Knights of the Oingo Boingo, that appeared on the show. Check out the footage from The Gong Show in the extended. You certainly can't mistake that it is Danny Elfman with that flaming red hair.
