I just read that Adobe (Photoshop, Acrobat, Illustrator, etc.) purchased Macromedia (Dreamweaver, Flash, Fireworks, etc.) for
$3.4 Billion.
By combining our development, authoring and collaboration software - along with the complementary functionality of Adobe PDF documents and Macromedia Flash - Adobe has the opportunity to bring this vision to life with an industry-defining technology platform.
Wow.

There's going to be an
eclipse of the sun today. I love eclipses of all kinds. They're freakin' cool. Unfortunatley, I don't live in an area that will be able to view any part of it.
Bah! The good news, however, is that according to my horoscope, things in my life are going to get better after the eclipse and after Mercury (my ruling planet that has been retrograde) turns direct, all of which is supposed to happen after April 12. Since that is approximately when my new job is supposed to start, things are looking up!

What the hell is wrong with the people in Congress? It's bad enough that we have this stupid, outdated system of Daylight Saving Time, but why in hell would we
extend it?
Lawmakers crafting energy legislation approved an amendment Wednesday to extend daylight-saving time by two months, having it start on the first Sunday in March and end on the last Sunday in November.
"Extending daylight-saving time makes sense, especially with skyrocketing energy costs," said Rep. Fred Upton, R-Michigan, who along with Rep. Ed Markey, D-Massachusetts, co-sponsored the measure.
The amendment was approved by the House Energy and Commerce Committee that is putting together major parts of energy legislation likely to come up for a vote in the full House in the coming weeks.
"The more daylight we have, the less electricity we use," said Markey, who cited Transportation Department estimates that showed the two-month extension would save the equivalent of 10,000 barrels of oil a day.
The country uses about 20 million barrels of oil a day.
This is so stupid. Screwing with time only screws with people. We have more accidents, we get sick, we are less productive as we acclimate to time changes. I don't see how this will result in less energy use. We are becoming more and more of a 24-hour society. We have computers on in our home 24 hours a day. Anybody who has been on the road at 4 am knows that there are people up and about. There is a set amount of daylight at any given time of the year. There is no way they can legislate more daylight. If people want to utilize the existing daylight better, then isn't that their responsibility?
Let's just dump Daylight Saving Time altogether and stop this stupidity. Isn't there more important things like illegal aliens, wasteful government spending, etc. that congress should be worrying about?

Oh, I forgot to mention that the final designs for the
Colorado State quarter were put out recently. I hate them all. I don't think any of them sum up our state. I like that one has columbines (our state flower), but I hate how they're part of the big "C". That big "C" looks totally dumb. Combine columbines, mining symbol and pikes peak and I'm sold. Skiing wasn't a bad idea, but that design is lame. The skiier looks like some kind of psycho. Creepy.

I was driving home from school last night and saw that gas had jumped to $1.97 a gallon! They were warning on the news that prices were going up, but it was still really bizarre seeing that as a price for the cheap gas.
Just another reason I need to start working from home for a 2nd source of income rather than driving to the North side of town 6–7 days a week. At least if I have to drive to meet a client, I can factor in gas to meet them as a business exprense.
