Meat Locker

When I got to work today, the moron manager remembered to turn off the oven; however, the swamp fans were blowing full blast. I guess they took the covers off the vents after I left yesterday. As a cold front came though last night and it's supposed to snow today, it made it absolutely FREEZING in the store. I complained to the head manager about it when he came in to write the schedule. He told me that moron manager seems to think that making the environmental conditions unbearable for everyone is totally funny. Maybe they should start docking the utility costs for leaving things on all night out of his paycheck and then let's see how funny it is. Of course, something like that will never happen. In my younger days, I probably would've done something to retaliate. I'm just going to let it go.

Sucky Work Conditions

Man, the weather was gorgeous today. It made it to 70° F -- in mid-February. Too bad I was stuck working inside a store that was way hotter than it needed to be. The stupid manager that closed last night left the ovens running, but he did remember to turn off the exhaust vents. The opening manager told me it was hotter than you-know-what in there when he arrived and the store was full of carbon monoxide and gas fumes. It wasn't too bad while the doors were propped open, but the manager had to close the doors once the store opened. We couldn't turn on the swamps, either. They've been winterized and there is still the chance of freezing weather (it still being February). Of course, they actually got busy, for once, and I had a lot more dough to do than I was expecting. The heat was making the dough all soft and sticky. Yuck. It took me forever to finish. I'll be done relatively early tomorrow and I'm off on Monday and it's supposed to be cold and snowy. Pooh.

Sorry, Rev

Just got a bummer email from my friend Reverie. She's been laid off from AT&T. She has just moved into a new apartment to be closer to work. That totally bites.

Alone and Full

Dad took me to the Armadillo restraurant for lunch today. Mmmm, burrito supreme. I really wanted a sopapilla for dessert, but I was sooooooo full. I need to learn how to make those myself, I guess.

Dad's cat has triggered a major allergy attack. I feel like pooh right now. Marcus is at his friend's place this evening. They're trying to start a web hosting company, so I'm all alone. :o( Of course, if he was here, he'd be on his computer and I'd be in the same boat. I'm a technology widow.

My hard drive on my laptop is full. I don't even have enough room to print pictures for scrapbooking. I need another computer. I want a Mac. Preferably a G4 with a 22" Cinema display, but I'd take a new iMac. I'm dreaming again. (Pinch self, wake up)
