Oh, I did remember another thing. Something called "Run a DLL as an App" tried to dial out of my computer. The little bit I could find about it through Google said it's a windows program that tries to report back to Microsoft or something. I wish I could find more about it. Well, I told my ZoneAlarm program to deny internet access to it until I can find out more. Stupid thing.

I just made a long post, hit the Post & Publish button and it's gone. Damn. Someday I'm going to learn to compose these in notepad and then copy them over. Well, I'll try to remember what I said:
That lady Nancy at CollegeAmerica is a ditzy dumbass. I went into her office last month specifically to ask if I could take Unix 4 this month without being charged extra for it. Well, I ran into her outside the building on my way to class and she asks if I'm still going to school. When I said I was, she asked if I was taking a class. Hello! Why would I be anywhere near that building with all the trouble I've had if I wasn't going to school? Why would I specifically ask if I could take a class and then not take it? You would think such stupidity would not continue to amaze me, but it does.
My Linux kernel compilation at school was successful. Whoohoo! This is the kind of stuff I wanted to learn. Not Word, not access, real, honest-to-goodness computer stuff. Why couldn't I have classes like this all along? I would've been much happier.
I'm kind of glad I broke off from my original class, though. I formed some opinions of people based on another person's opinions rather than making my own. Now that the influence is gone, I'm discovering that some of these people I considered to be (annoying/scary/dumbasses, etc) are really neat. I've had the chance to become friendly with people from three different sets of class rotations rather than the one set I would've met had I stuck with my original classmates. One guy in particular, who wears a trenchcoat and seems kind of evil in appearance, is actually turning out to be a cool dude.
Well, that's enough for now. I'll try to remember the rest of it later. I'd better post it before I lose it.

Michael Robertson, ex-CEO of MP3.com, has started a new company called
Lindows.com. His company is trying to develop a Linux flavor that will run Windows programs. Man, I hope he succeeds. I don't begrudge Bill Gates his right to make money, but the way Microsoft is clamping down is going to hurt it in the long run. You can read more about it
here.
Unix class just drug on today. I'm sure the quiz set the tone. The teacher wasn't into it today, either. We're supposed to be learning how to recompile a kernel, but we didn't get very far. Oh, well.

Just had a pop quiz in Unix class. ARGH! 70%, not good. What a terrible thing to do to a class on a Monday.

Dang, I sat down to quickly check my email and fix yesterday's blog alignment problem I was having at 6 a.m. It's almost 9 and I'm still sitting here surfing! Where is my morning going? I have to leave for school soon. I wish I could stay home today, but for once, I'll actually miss something if I don't go.
