Today: I Need A Do Over

Today totally sucked ass.

First I woke up stressed out after having some really bad nightmares. Then I had to drive to town in this totally dense fog. I had to deal with some dude at work that wanted to come into the store before they were open to work on the floors. He claimed he was there on behalf of the landlords. I told him I didn't have authority to let him in and he'd have to come back after 10 when the manager was there. Since I wasn't informed such a guy was coming, how was I to know if he was legit or if he was there to scope the place out to rob it or worse? He was a little ticked that I wouldn't let him in. Too bad.

After work I decided to head over to CollegeAmerica to take a look at the job board. It was snowing these weird little snowballs that felt like the styrofoam pellets in bean bag toys. Since the weather people said it was going to be a "light dusting" of snow today, I didn't think much about it. Of course, there are no jobs on the board. What else is new? I figured while I was in the neighborhood, I'd stop in at the JoAnn craft store up on Yale & Colorado. When I came out there was a full-fledged blizzard in progress! What the? Mike Nelson, the weather guy on KOA, says, "Oops, we goofed." Damn. I left the store at 2:30 and didn't get home until 5:45. What a disaster. I was so frazzled I stopped at a convenience store for about 15 minutes to use the restroom and relax. The roads totally sucked. No sand trucks, no plows, no nothing. Somebody died in a 30-40 car pileup on I-76. The accident list was absolutely huge. When I pulled up in front of my house, the storm was over, the sun was shining and there was even a rainbow in the Northwestern sky. I guess it really is true what they say about Colorado weather. If you don't like it wait a little, it will change.

So, here I am at home all alone. Marcus really wanted to go to the Apple store to get an upgrade for his Adobe Go-Live. I advised him to go tomorrow with the condition the streets were in, but he and his friend Mike are going anyway. So, I'll be in dreamland (hopefully not the same destination as last night) well before he gets home.

I picked up a new pair of dog clippers at PetSmart today. Why do replacement blades cost just as much as new clippers? I don't get it.

Well, I'm really tired. As soon as I do the Friday Five, I'm going to bed.

I’m Being Lazy

I'm seriously think of taking up yoga. Not only would it help me lose weight, it's supposed to relieve stress and tension. I am waaay too angry and frustrated lately.

I tried to start shaving the dog but the blades are dull. I'll toddle over to the feed store and see if they have any agricultural grade clippers. I swear Ursa's coat is a thick as a sheep. I also need to get some lunch. Maybe that will get me going. Except for a sink of dishes, I haven't done squat today.

Motivationless

I am soooooooo tired. I slept over 10 hours last night. What's the problem? I've got so much stuff I [have/need/want] to do, but absolutely no motivation. Ugh.

I'm trying to win a computer system on TechTv. It's not working so far. Boo.

Marcus' parents are supposed to be here March 19-21. Aaaah, less than two weeks to make my house spoltless. It ain't gonna happen. Especially when it keeps snowing and making the yard a mess and the dogs leave muddy footprints all over the floor. Marcus wants to have them shaved before his folks come. Hah, good luck.

I'm mad at the owner again. What else is new, huh? The idiot took $400 out of my paycheck again, but forgot to bring the extra check with him yesterday. When he saw me, he says, "Oh, I was supposed to give you a check today, huh?" Duh, yeah. Poor baby had to go all the way back home. I feel so sorry for him. (dripping sarcasm) I must find new career NOW!

I've decided I'm not going to shop at Michaels Arts & Crafts store anymore. I'm so sick of the employees in most of their stores. They're rude, unknowledgeable....stupid. a couple of weeks ago, I was looking at scrapbooking papers and this employee that wanted to hang a new sign stood right in my way with a ladder to make me leave. Shouldn't that sort of stuff be done at times other than during store hours? I didn't buy anything that day I was so angry. Then, these two clerks yesterday were standing around gossiping about their boss, other employees, how they hate the company, etc. I don't begrudge them having these feelings, just don't express them in front of me, a potential paying customer. Especially when your shelves are not stocked properly and you're out of everything I came in for. One of the chicks was supposed to be ordering stuff (she had the order gun). I've been a merchandiser before, I know how this works. She was only ordering for "holes" (empty shelf spaces or empty hooks). Well, some of what should've been holes were filled with the wrong stuff. I've never seen that place such a mess mid-week. Weekends I can partially understand when there are tons of people leaving stuff all over. A Wednesday? No way. Especially when there are clerks standing around. I left the stuff I was going to buy right where I was standing. I never do that. I'm going to email their corporate office, not that it will do any good. The economy never got bad enough to affect the poor state of customer service that currently exists.

The landlord told me that one of the horses that is kept on the property is pregnant. I've been so busy lately and since I leave when it's dark and get home when it's dark I hadn't noticed. I also can't see them from my house with my neighbor's stupid shed in the way. The horse's owners are expecting her to deliver any day now. I can hardly wait. Baby horses are just too damn cute. I want horses so bad. Someday.

I made the BEST cheesecake on Monday. I don't know what I did differently, but it was the creamiest, most delicious one I've done yet. Mmmmm. Heaven.

Well, I'm going to go make myself get some stuff done. I wonder if the dog would cooperate and sit still to be shaved? I'm dreaming again.

Denver Radio Sucks

Pathetic. That's what I have to say about the rotation of music on 95.7 KISS FM here in Denver. The manager at one of the stores loves that station. I hate how you can hear the same song played three times in a little over two hours. I checked out their playlist. No wonder I hear the same songs over and over. There are only 20 freakin' songs on the list. Their slogan is "Today's Best Music." Is that all they can come up with? Sad. Very, very sad.

Move, People

Why do women with tons of kids feel the need to congregate in the middle of an aisle of a store to shoot the shit? It's a small town. I'm sure these people see each other all the time. Don't stand in front of the meat counter and then look at me like I'm intruding on your stupid conversation when all I'm trying to do is grab a couple of pounds of hamburger. And they say people in small towns are more polite. Yeah, right.
