Current mood:
drained
I'm so tired. I made 23 batches of dough today and prepped veggies at both stores between the hours of 7 a.m. and 5 p.m. On top of that, the manager at one of the stores didn't have the ventillation set right and it was hotter than H*** in there. I was getting really lethargic and it was taking forever to get anything done, it seemed. That particular store also has a concrete floor and my feet hurt bad. Whine, whine, whine. I guess the owner is finally getting one the one manager about the filthy condition of the store. It's about time. I mentioned that it would be nice if the dough on the wall since March would go away.
Why are some people so clueless and rude? I was making sauce. I know a lot of the drivers have never seen me because this was the first time I was there that late, but I had cans on the table ready to open while I was adding the spices and this one driver hangs his coat on the can opener.
Hello. I informed him that I was still using it and he gets indignant that he has to move his coat.
Like the Christmas countdown I added? Cool, huh?
I saw the most beautiful moon as I was driving home. It was almost full and was so huge and orange as it came up over the eastern horizon. I wish I could've gotten a picture of it. I need to start carrying a camera with me. Oh, well.
I think I'm going to call this day a wash, go to bed and get some rest. I need to clean the carpets tomorrow and do laundry. Whoohoo!

Happy November!
Of course, it doesn't feel like November. It was almost 70° F outside today. I'm going to work on changing the template for Thanksgiving this evening, if I can stay awake. Even though I got almost 11 hours of sleep last night, I'm drained. I want to stay up for Friends, Survivor and CSI tonight, but I may end up having to tape them. We'll see how I feel after I eat some dinner. All I've had to eat today is some Chex Mix on the drive home from school. I was going to get some lunch before school, but the stores were really busy because of Halloween--more than I thought they would be. I didn't even have time to get done with the dough before I had to leave for class. I guess I'll be catching up tomorrow. Yippee.
School didn't go well today. Our instructor knows just enough about Linux to get himself in trouble, I think. Enough to pass certificaitons, but not enough to easily solve problems caused by silly students. We're trying to get our computers to serve multiple web pages with apache. Since a lot of the students can't type worth crap, most of the problems we're having are spelling errors (wrong capitalization, incorrect IP addresses, wrong paths, etc.). I spent most of the day playing with the design my little sites. Nothing else to do. Oh, well.
Just had to send my dogs outside as a diversion for a stray dog that was antagonizing a bunny from the field. Poor thing. I think the bunny thought I was sending my dogs after him, too. Luckily my dogs didn't even see it. I wish people wouldn't let their dogs run free.

An email that greeted me in today?s inbox:
Sorry to bother you all with this, but this virus simply scares me to death and I thought all of you should know about it ASAP!
If you receive an email entitled "HOLYCOW", delete it immediately. Do not open it. Apparently this one is pretty nasty. It not only erases everything on your hard drive, but it will also delete anything on disks within 20 feet of your computer. It demagnetizes the stripes on ALL of your credit cards. It reprograms your ATM access code, screws up the tracking on your VCR and uses subspace field harmonics to scratch any CD's you attempt to play. It will program your phone auto dial to call only 900 numbers. This virus will mix antifreeze into your fish tank. It will drink ALL your beer.
FOR GOD'S SAKE, ARE YOU LISTENING?!
It will leave dirty underwear on the coffee table when you are expecting company. It will replace your shampoo with Nair and your Nair with Rogaine, all the while dating your current boy/girlfriend behind your back and billing their hotel rendezvous to your Visa card. It will run with scissors and throw things in a way that is only fun until someone loses an eye. It will rewrite your backup files, changing all your active verbs to passive tense and incorporating undetectable misspellings that grossly change the interpretations of key sentences.
If the "HOLYCOW" message is opened in a Windows 95/98 environment, it will leave the toilet seat up and leave your hair dryer plugged in dangerously close to a full bathtub. It will not only remove the forbidden tags from your mattresses and pillows; it will also refill your skim milk with whole milk.
WARN AS MANY PEOPLE AS YOU CAN!
And if you don't send this to 5000 people in 20 seconds, you'll fart so hard that your right leg will spasm and shoot straight out in front of you, sending sparks that will ignite the person nearest you. Send this to everyone...
**In case you are a blonde, this is a joke.

Tomorrow is Halloween. I'm undecided as the whether I should get a pumpkin and some candy to give out or just forget about it this year since I can't get to any of my decorations in storage. We put a bunch of stuff in there since we thought we were moving. It would take a couple of days to get to my stuff. I didn't get my decorations up last year (no time), so I got a whopping 3 trick-or-treaters that ventured into the mobile home park. The year before I had all my lights and stuff up. Several mothers told me they don't normally come in, but my decorations let them know from afar that they should. Damn. One thing I've noticed, though, is that people are not buying up pumpkins like they usually do. By now, you usually see pumpkins all over and finding one at a store is difficult. Every grocery store I passed today still had a huge pile of them. Is it that with the terrorist attack, people are not in the mood? Does it not seem like it's time for Halloween yet since it has been so warm? That's my dilemma. It feels like September, not the end of October. We've usually had at least one really bad snow by now and the leaves should be off the trees. I've got to get in gear and get a Thanksgiving feast prepared in three weeks. Aaaaargh!
