As I mentioned in the last post, we have an Apple TV (

tv if you're an Apple Geek) in our household. We've decided that we're going to dump our Dish Network service (unless they have a very cheap basic plan available) and just rely on iTunes and the Internet for our entertainment. I already watch old television and movies through Netflix and most of the shows I watch have episodes on the networks' sites. We could get season passes for our most favorite shows (such as The Office) and still save money by ditching the dish for now. The only problem I foresee is stuff on USA (Psych, The 4400, etc) and a few other shows.
Honestly, though, I'll probably survive just fine not seeing any of them. I'm looking for part time work in the evenings and won't have much free time anymore anyway because getting out of this mobile home is becoming an obsession. We stopped in at PetSmart to get Timothy hay for the bunnies and my heart ached seeing all the dogs and their owners. I want to be a dog owner again so bad. This is the first time in my life that nobody in my family has had a dog and I feel lost.

As I sit here after midnight, tired as hell and in terrible toothache pain waiting for the ibuprofin to kick in, I decided to catch up on some feeds in my Google Reader. I came across an article written on the
Emtwo blog where Melissa had mentioned that she had just upgraded her design company's computers to the newest version of
Thunderbird. I have been so busy and out of touch lately that I didn't realize that a new version of Thunderbird had been released (it's now at version 2). If you don't already know, Thunderbird is a really neat mail app from the folks at Mozilla, producers of Firefox, one of the coolest browsers ever in my not so humble opinion. I just upgraded, as well, and will have to look into what new features are included sometime when I'm not so freaking tired.

Wow, I had a busy week last week. I'm still recovering, thus my absence from posting. I think last week's events will be the subject of this week's Thursday Thirteen.
Anyhow, at the opening of the newest Denver area Apple Store last weekend at Park Meadows mall, Marcus and I saw a guy wearing an
iTrek shirt. I wish I had the guts to ask strangers to pose for pictures. I just remembered to look that up. I'm so getting one of these. The dude was wearing the one I have pictured to the right there. --->
I'm torn as to weather to get a red shirt in that style, or a blue one with the Vulcan on it. Decisions, decisions. I guess I'll just have to eventually get both. LOL

Well, OK, the poor mouse isn't stupid, it's just getting old and worn out. I have this Logitech laser mouse that I've been noticing hasn't been responding as well as it used to. I especially hate how it responds when I'm trying to draw in Illustrator. It's harder than heck to grab a point. Well, early in the week I noticed it wasn't even starting to place the cursor well and if I needed to select some specific text, forget about it! We stopped in at CompUsa yesterday and I discovered I can't afford a new mouse. Marcus said I could use the mighty mouse that came with his new Mac. After an evening of using that, my poor hand hurt so bad! Why can't Apple ship an ergonomically friendly mouse? So, I guess I'm stuck moving my corded Logitech mouse back and forth from my PC to my Mac until I can afford a new mouse.

I just received my ThinkGeek newsletter. I totally forgot that they have a monthly
Techie Haiku Contest where you can win a $50 ThinkGeek gift certificate.
I want ThinkGeek stuff
Must think of a cool haiku
My brain is so fried
heh.
Anyway, if I won, I'd get myself a myself a
Cubes IT department playset. It would be like having my very own Marcus action figure! Of course, I'd have to fashion an Apple hat for him.
