Domestic Geek

Today I was thinking about this blog I used to read awhile back. I don't know why today all of a sudden I started thinking about her. The woman signed herself as djmofo and her blog was called Shut Yo Mouth. It disappeared about a year ago. I think the site she hosted on went wonky. Does anybody else remember reading her? What happened to her? I googled djmofo and found all sorts of sites that she commented at, but no sign of her. I found her old site on the Wayback Machine. Hmmmmm.

I am totally bored with the Internet. I need some new sites to visit. A lot of the really good sites I used to read have vanished. A lot of blog authors have become mommies and that is now the focus of their site. That's ok for them, because kids are your life when you have them, it's just not my thing. The only mom site I really enjoy reading still is Laura's and that's because I actually know her IRL. I'm totally sick of all politics and so the right-wing sites I used to read don't even appeal to me anymore. Maybe this is a good thing that I've lost interest. I'll spend that time I would've reading blogs to actually do something productive. Wow, that's a concept. Anyway, what's a good site out there that you enjoy reading?

I was linked from Instapundit today and when I went to look at my Branica stats, I see that I have had over 1500 hits from there. Whoa. I normally get between 18-35. I didn't get that many hits of people looking for the infamous Toys 'R' Us singing bunny commercial. Everybody but one guy has been a lurker, though. Sorry I don't have anything interesting to say.

I also noticed that somebody found me by searching for "LaDonna (lastname removed) blog". I took all references to my full name off the ol' blog quite a while ago. Will the cached versions of my site ever go away? I'm hesitant to start a professional life when all people have to do to find my lunatic rantings is do a google search on me. I'm really regretting having put my last name in the blog at all. Lesson learned. Maybe it is time to switch this thing to a different domain. I'm thinking of letting ladonnasworld.com go when it expires in January, anyway. We'll see. It would've been nice to find out who was looking for me, though. It's not like a have a really common name.

Of course, that may not totally help. Even though I found no reference to his full name in it, the blog of sex offender and accused murderer Joseph Duncan was found. Maybe the goDaddy site linked it originally or something or a newspaper drug it up. Who knows? Reading some of those entries was chilling, though.

Damn, that embroidery machine went for $1100. What a steal! *sigh* I need money.

OK, I'm putting a random quotes section in the sidebar and I'm looking for good quotes. Do you have a favorite quote that's crafty, artsy, culinary, geeky, domestic, inspirational, humorous, etc.? I'm looking for stuff that fits in the the Domestic Geek theme of this site, but it doesn't necessarily have to. If so, leave it in the comments or email it to me.
