Well, the pamphlet I was sent home with from the dentist said I might bruise and boy, did I ever! I woke up in horrible pain this morning, went and looked in the mirror and my jawline is all black and blue. Looks like somebody punched me good. I know this is part of the healing phase, but I looked like an abused woman. I hope nobody at work thinks Marcus hits me or anything.
I'm trying to be good and not mess with the wound with my tongue. I definitely did better with that today than I did yesterday. I'm getting impatient for it to heal, though, because I'm tired of soft foods already. I mean, I'm glad that I can eat, but I'm craving bread or something.
Laura had something posted on her blog today about how Chipotle is giving away free food if you donate food for the Food Bank of the Rockies. Wah, I can't chew a burrito right now!

Well, the surgery went really well. I think the dentist was surprised that they came out as easily as they did. It was only in the office a grand total of 30 minutes. I didn't even get woozy either mdash; just numb.
So, I've got generic Percocet and Vicodin and antibiotics and something for the swelling and my kitchen counter is looking like a pharmacy. I'm holding off on the pain meds to see if I really need them. I didn't the last time I had teeth out. I'm not sure about taking the antibiotics, though. I try not to take stuff I don't need and antibiotics always bring on a yeast infection. Plus, taking unneeded drugs causes resistance. I'll see how I feel tomorrow and make a decision then. I did have a wisdom tooth out once that infected and I felt like total crap and don't really want to go through that again. Danged choices.
On that note, I'm starting to ramble, so I think I'm going to go surf in bed until I drift off into (hopefully) the first pain-free sleep I've had in weeks.

Once I'm over my oral surgery, I am getting serious about getting fit. One major problem I have is that I've never been big into
calorie counting, so I really have no idea how many calories I'm consuming when I eat. Today I joined a totally free site called MyFitnessPal.com that I am hoping will help educate me as to the caloric and nutritional content of the foods I'm eating and ultimately allow me to make better choices.
In addition to the
free calorie counter, the site offers an online food journal, an exercise log, a way to monitor your progress and a forum. There is also a way to look up how many calories a particular activity burns. That was really cool.
Once I start using the
calorie counter and all the other tools available through the site, I'll be one step closer to realizing my goal of a healthy, trim body.

Today is consultation day at the oral surgeon. I'm one step close to getting my bad teeth out and being out of constant pain.
I know I'm in for a yucky stretch when these come out until I can get the money together for dentures, but maybe at least I can start living again. I've been so lethargic and I haven't been doing any exercise or anything. My weight crept back up to where it was before.
I hope I have good news later about when these teeth are coming out.

Well, I don't have an appointment with the oral surgeon until Tuesday afternoon. Stupid holiday weekend. Even then, it's only a consultation appointment, so who knows when the teeth will really come out. The pain comes in waves of severity. I haven't had a full night's sleep in a week and I'm exhausted. I hope they come out sooner than later. In the mean time, I have a prescription for Vicodin (got the generic equivalent) and so far I'm not impressed with it. Last night I either hallucinated that the pain was worse or it really was until I finally got knocked out. Then I woke up feeling like crap. The drug-induced didn't really get good sound sleep feeling. Ugh. To help cover the cost of all of this, I'm going to be working tomorrow and Monday. Hopefully my next paycheck will be pretty decent since Monday will be time and a half and tomorrow will be all OT. Now that I'm becoming more skilled, I'm hoping I'll get offered more OT on a regular basis and I won't have to find another part-time job. My supervisor said that the company doesn't mind paying OT as long as work is getting done. We'll see.
I finally found a thermostat for my car, but nobody in town has the freaking gasket. How lame! We went to three separate automotive chains today: one didn't carry it and two others' computers said they had one in stock, but the clerks couldn't find it. I'll try a couple of more tomorrow when I get off work before I get totally pissed. I'm hoping that it takes care of the problem because I don't have the money for huge auto repairs right now. It's bad enough that my air conditioning decided to break just as we're coming into summer. *sigh*
I need to go to bed since I'm working tomorrow, but I'm waiting for the drugs to kick in. I took the pill like an hour ago and I still feel the same. I'll be interested to read this post in the morning and see if it's all jacked. LOL
One last thing: Anybody have any particular preferences as far as photo paper? I'm all out and I was looking at the various brands at CompUsa last weekend and they all don't really compare well. What has worked best for you in the past? What really sucked? I should mention that I'm using an Epson Stylus Photo R340. Anyway, any advice or thoughts would be appreciated. I'd hate to waste money on crappy paper since the stuff is so freaking expensive. I wish I could get some samples and do some tests before I bought a whole pack. Is there any way to get samples from somewhere?
Since I'm babbling away, do you guys ever check out the Apple ads on the International sites? My favorites are the
guys from Apple UK. A lot of the ads are similar to ones in the US, but there are a couple that are different. My favorite one right now is
Office Posse. I played it for my supervisor at work today (it's on my iPod) and he laughed out loud. Go check it out. Right now.
