Domestic Geek

ARGH....I'm between pants sizes. The ones I'm wearing now keep falling down, but the next size down is still too tight. I'm annoying myself by constantly fixing my pants. *sigh* I hope I can get into that next size down soon.

The art director went home sick today. I was there all by myself all afternoon. Of course, a couple of things came up that I had no clue how to deal with. I hope he feels better tomorrow. He's recently quit smoking. I wonder if that's why he felt so ill.

I bought myself some celery to take for lunch today. Man, it was the nastiest most bitter celery I think I've ever had. I ate what I could and tossed the rest. It gave me the worst heartburn. Ugh.

Well, I'm going to have some soup, finish watching Medium and head to bed.

Ah, the sun has made an appearance today. It was out briefly on Saturday, but hasn't been seen since. How I have missed ye.

I like mornings where I don't have to go do pizza dough--where I get a full night's sleep and can take my time getting ready for work. I actually feel like a normal person today.

Why do some gas pumps have a "pay here credit" and "pay here debit" buttons and then when you push the "pay here credit" button and put your card in, it asks you again if it is a debit card? I told you it was credit already, dammit! If you have a debit card and cannot push the appropriate button in the first place, then tough--you lose 'cause you're stupid. Just a small something that annoys me on a regular basis.

When I was at the Cherry Creek mall last Friday for the Tiger Premiere, I wandered down to the Build-A-Bear store. There was a party going on there and the kids were singing the Chicken Dance. I didn't know that song had lyrics. The part I had stuck in my head was:

I don't wanna be a chicken,
I don't wanna be a duck,
so I shake my tail

I found a cute little catalog when we were going through the files at work yesterday looking for clues as to where our company's web site is hosted. It's for a company called Computer Gear that sells goofy gifts for the geeky. I ordered the new catalog because paper catalogs are easier to browse than an Internet site and I like having catalogs in the bathroom. Does that make me weird? Anyway, I think I've found a source for Christmas gifts. lol

Went to another clinic today, missed two hours of work, dropped $140 I can't afford to spend and still don't have a solution. The doctor took a couple of cultures and a urine sample and I have to wait 48 hours to see if anything grows. Cross your fingers that something does so I can get some answers. I'm really sick of feeling like crap.

On a different note, they picked a new pope today. A talk show host said the event had significant impact on Catholics and non-Catholics alike. No, it doesn't. I'm not religious and I don't give a rat's ass who their pope is. It's just some man who heads (in my extremely cynical opinion) a corrupt organization. Even if there is a god, I doubt very much that just because a bunch of guys claiming to be men of god pick one guy over the rest makes that single guy God's representative on earth. It's all a crock. I don't see how any particular person being a pope has squat to do with my life except that it took over my Starting Over episode today. </rant>

Sorry, just feeling totally bitchy today. I'm PMSing really bad, I haven't gotten enough sleep with the schedule change and that neighbor fiasco this last weekend, my dumb boss showed up an hour and a half earlier than he was scheduled so I had to see him this morning, creditors have been calling my cell mercilessly today and I have no money to pay them, I was late to work because traffic totally sucked, I felt useless there today because I don't know enough to be totally useful and there weren't any projects I could work on by myself, then I had to leave work early and for what? My car was acting up really bad today, I feel like shit, no television to watch because yesterday's Medium was a repeat and the pope pre-empted SO and Gilmore Girls tonght sucked. All my eBay auctions ended today and nobody bought anything. Oh, and we're out of food. Grrrrr.

I know this will all get better eventually (like in a week after my period is over and I get used to the new routine). I'm just frustrated in the meantime.

Also, I miss my afternoon nap.

In a little over an hour and a half, I'll be starting my new job. I'm sure I can handle it, but I've still got the first day jitters and am feel totally sick to my stomach. Of course, I also did not sleep well last night due to said jitters. *sigh* Wish me luck.

When I was driving to work this morning, a herd of deer were congregating in the road a few blocks from my house. I didn't know that deer wandered this close to my abode. I knew that there are skunks, racoons, foxes...but deer? Too cool. There is something really peaceful and amazing about deer herds. They fascinate me for some reason. What a great way to start the day.
