#9: One of my favorite authors is Stephen King.
I first read Carrie when I was in middle school. I had the copy that came out in conjunction with the movie they did with Sissy Spacek, William Katt and John Travolta. In fact, I still have that copy. It's all bent and the spine has masking tape on it.
I can't remember being hooked on him right away or not. I really liked that story, though. Mom bought his books and I devoured them. At some point, it switched (I think I was in college) and I was buying them and lending them to Mom to read. I couldn't wait for the next one to get to paperback fast enough (I can't see the point of buying hardback). The last few years, though, I've gotten way behind. Either I didn't have the time for reading with school, or I didn't have the money to get books. I'm also missing several that I have read, but I've either lost somehow or people lent them and never gave them back.
The Stand is the only book of his that really freaked me out. It probably didn't help that I was reading it alone in the middle of the night, either. LOL
One of my goals in the next three years is to get all the books that I'm missing and catch up.
