This-or-That Tuesday

I guess I'll start doing this. It seems kind of cool.
This-or-That Tuesday

1. Cats or dogs?
Dogs, definitely. Cats get on my nerves and I'm allergic to boot.

2. Lions or tigers?
Lions.

3. Cows or pigs?
Cows. Pigs are like cats, they're cute until they grow up.

4. Turtles or frogs?
Actually, both are cool, but I suppose I lean more towards turtles.

5. Elephants or giraffes?
I don't have a preference for either one.

6. Butterflies or birds?
Butterflies.

7. Deer or moose?
Deer.

8. Goldfish or swordfish?
Goldfish. Swordfish look like freaks of nature.

9. Bunny rabbits or ferrets?
I really love bunnies! I've always wanted a ferret, but they can be buttheaded.

10. Horses or unicorns?
Horses...I've always wanted one, my whole life.

It’s HOT

When I went to the bank today about 4 p.m., the bank sign said it was 109°F! ICK! At least tomorrow is supposed the be the last day of the heat wave and a cold front is supposed to move in on Wednesday. I sure hope so.

RMN Front Page Controversy

Since I no longer get the paper and I haven't been up on current events all week, a friend of mine passed along this little tidbit to me on which I just had to comment. The Rocky Mountain News published a picture of a man sitting among the burned rubble of his home with one of his boys peeking out of his shorts. They claim it's a shadow. Shadow from what? I guess this paper was a hot seller. It's even being sold on eBay. Too funny.

I’m (Almost) On Vacation

After I get off of work tomorrow, I don't have to work again until SUNDAY!!!!!! I'm taking a few days off to save my sanity. School is on a two week summer break, so now seemed a good time to take some time off.

Good thing, too, because I'm ready to kill the manager at one of the stores. The moron has been a weak manager at best and he's one of the major reasons that sales at that store have fallen off so bad. Recently, he's been so preoccupied with his wedding, selling his grandmother's house and moving into his own new house that his work has really suffered. This last week was the last straw for him with ALOT of people. He didn't call the food order in after he made it on Tuesday. Wednesday morning the food supplier calls wanting an order and the poor day manager was in the middle of a rush and paniced. The manager from the other store told him to have the previous order sent and the head manager could make a supplemental order when he got to work later that evening. Well, the head manager claimed he was "testing" the day manager and figured he knew how to tell which order was the current one and since he didn't know how to do that, he "failed." Loser was just too stupid to admit that he forgot to call it in. Then he didn't make another order. By Friday they were running out of everything, so he calls in an order on Friday to be delivered on Saturday. He borrows everything he needs to get through Friday's rush from other stores with the promise that it'll be returned when the order comes Saturday. Well, 5:00 p.m. Saturday comes, no order. He calls the company and they inform him no order was received and there is no way to get him any food now until Monday morning on the regular delivery. Now, everybody who lent him food is pissed because they are short, he calls his assistant in on his day off and makes him go around to more stores farther away to borrow even more food to get through Saturday night and Sunday. Meanwhile, he gets off work and goes home for three days since he's not scheduled to work again until Wednesday. When Marcus and I get to work Sunday morning, I can't make all the dough I'm supposed to because they lent flour to the other store. There is not enough yeast or salt for the flour they borrowed, so I have to bring yeast from my store and the manager has to go buy salt. I was so mad I probably would've kicked the asshole if he'd been there.

On a better note, I've lost 10 pounds. I'm so excited. I really want to be the old me by the time I graduate from Platt. I'm so amazed about how bad I've let myself go.

I got my UNC (University of Northern Colorado - Greeley) transcripts in the mail the other day. I need to provide my transcripts from previous schools to Platt. It was weird looking at all these classes I took. Some of them I remember vividly, others I can't even remember attending. Then there was the quarter I was so depressed and everything in my life was going wrong and I managed to actually FAIL a class for the first time in my life. I think I spent more time in a bar than I did in a classroom. It's amazing that I managed to graduate and with a 3.5 GPA at that. It's scary to think how well I might have done if I had taken it a little more seriously then. Oh, well.

So Busy

There has been absolutely no time to post anything lately. I've been sooooooo busy. School is going well (my teacher is REALLY impressed with my work) and work is sucky as usual. Hopefully I'll have time to write some stuff this weekend. I hope there is no repeat of last weekend's web server fiasco. The guys that host my site moved the servers from Denver to Loveland and there were some minor problems. I had the time to work on it, but I had no access to my site all weekend. It sucked. Oh, well. I've been sleep-deprived all week again, so I'm off to bed. G'night.
