Shove It

Ok, I'm just a little tired of all of these stupid bitches on their blogs making fun of Bush choking on a pretzel. I personally have almost passed out from coughing too hard and it is NOT funny. I didn't like Al Gore, but I wouldn't find anything humorous if such an incident had happened to him. I'd like to shove pretzels down all their throats and see who's laughing then.

Here Again

Geez, can you tell it's my day off? I've been on this computer all day!

ICQ Back?

ICQ is working again, but not by anything I did on our end. I've been screwing around with settings on my machine all day and all of a sudden I get a green flower. I called Marcus at work to have him logon so I could tell if it was really working and it was. He made me turn on the Mac and it was working there also and I hadn't touched any settings there, so obviously something was fixed by one of the parties (Earthlink or ICQ) that claimed it was "our problem." Oh, well, at least it's working for now.

Argh, I'm burning a bag of microwave popcorn---be right back......

Well, that was a disaster. I knew I set the time too long when I put it in there, but I was thinking it would be OK, I'd listen for it to stop popping. Leave it to me to totally forget about it. Smoke was billowing out of the microwave when I opened it. YUCK!

My lovebird, Kane, has been being rambunctious and fighting with everything in her cage today. Now she's tuckered out and napping on her perch. It's making me sleepy and thinking I want a nap, too.

Groovy, Baby

While wandering around blogworld today, I came across groovy blog. Her entry today brought back fond memories of my own. I, too, was a Bay City Rollers fanatic in the 70's. I too wanted and dreamed of marrying Eric Faulkner. He was soooooooo dreamy and his eyes just made me melt. *sigh* I didn't know they were still performing and there is supposed to be something this July in Virginia called Rollerfest. Wow, that just blows my mind.

Christmas Remains

What's left of the poor Christmas treeWell, Christmas 2001 is almost history in the Lingl/Droll house this year. I'm in the process of getting the tree itself down. As I hate to waste a perfectly good tree (chalk it up to my Indian roots), I always chop the branches up and use the tree in the fireplace. It makes less of a mess than dragging it through the house to the outside, doesn't clog up landfills and pleases the senses since I LOVE the smell of burning pine. (Have I ever mentioned I'm a pyromaniac?) After that I need to find a couple of boxes to pack the after-Christmas bargains I got this year (Thanks to everyone who didn't go decoration shopping this season), take the stuff to storage, and I'm all DONE! Well, not quite, but I'll put scrubbing the floor and vacuuming, etc. into the housecleaning category, not the packing up Christmas category.

Next on today's agenda is changing the oil in the car and getting some crafting done. I've been working on a latch-hook wolf rug since 1994 and I resolve to finish it this year. I'm sure I'll look back on this next year and laugh my head off. Oh, well. I also need to do some research to find out why ICQ is not working on our home network anymore. It used to work, now it doesn't. Neither ICQ, Earthlink (our satellite provider) or WinProxy (our proxy client) knows what the problem is. Dang it, I like ICQ better than AIM. ARGH!

I wanted to wash the car this week, but they're saying it's going to be cold all week. Dang it!
