I’m Back

Current mood: sad bear sick
OK, I'm finally back, but alas I'm sick, have homework to catch up on and really need to get some sleep. I'll write about the last couple of nightmare months I've had in a few days.

I’ll Be Back Shortly

As many may have noticed, I haven't been updating my site lately. Issues with my web host, lack of time, etc. have kept me from it. Since my host is totally unreliable and has not even bothered to give me a new ftp password or enabled Perl so that my Movabletype would work, I've decided to just pull the plug on the whole thing. We're in the process of moving to town (Aurora - hopefully it won't take more than month, but it's turning into a disaster that I'll catch everyone up on later), so as soon as Marcus and I can get a server set up, we'll host our own web sites.
I'll still be at the same address, so don't change your bookmarks! You can also still .(JavaScript must be enabled to view this email address) me, if you want.
See You Soon!
P.S. For those of you wondering, I found a new job!!! I'll be working at the new Mimi's Cafe in Aurora that will be opening up on November 27th. Yay!! I'm so excited!!

My Web Host Sucks

Well, I guess I'll be posting here for awhile until I get moved back to town and set up my own server. Those dorks that hosted my site are moving their operations to new Linux servers and can't get my stuff to copy over (file names too long, they say). Marcus wants to sever ties with those guys, and since I refuse to pay them for this ineptness, I'm going to have to post here. I am so irked about this. I can't even ftp in to make sure I have all my files backed up and I can't export the MovableType entries because the jerk disabled Perl. He's supposed to enable everything tomorrow so I can get my site off of their server, but geez, what an unprofessional way to run a business. When is my life going to fall into place? I'm so tired of everything being up in the air. If something doesn't resolve itself soon, school is going to start suffering. The stress is starting to make my stomach hurt, and I didn't even want to go to school today. While I was there, my mind was so preoccupied that I couldn't concentrate on anything. I REALLY hate it when life gets like this.

*SIGH*

Sorry, there's no good news to report on my front. I'm really starting to feel like a scumbag. Still no new job, can't get my car aligned until I get the money to replace ALL FOUR TIRES (since it's AWD, nobody will replace just the front tires) and I'm probably going to ruin the $700 worth of work that Marcus lent me the money for, I want to kill the dumbass I'm sitting next to at school, I REALLY HATE THE OWNER of the store where I work, nobody wants to buy our house. I'm just a bundle of joy, lately.

I finally got an answer for the data entry job I applied for a couple of weeks ago -- it was a front for a scam. It's one of those companies that will send you some lame work-at-home leads if you send them $29.95. Those kind of ads shouldn't be allowed on Monster.com. Losers. I applied at FedEx for a package handler position on Monday -- keeping my fingers crossed about that one. You'd think with Christmas coming up, they'd hire any able bodied person that came in the door.

Marcus is thinking of moving our house to town, but the one park he found that could take a house as big as ours wouldn't take a dog over 15" tall. Poor Skippy stands about 22". What a dumb rule. My 10-year-old 22" dog doesn't cause near as many problems as most tiny, drop-kick kind of yappy dogs. It's discrimination, I say. Oh, well.

I'm waiting for the WB2 news to come on so I can see if they air a story about a semi truck going through the Best Buy store at Mississippi & Abilene. From the stories I heard on KOA this afternoon, it sounded like the truck was really out of control. I hope every that got hurt is going to be ok. How scary would that be to be in the way of an out-of-control truck? I guess one of the employees got trapped in the rubble of an office or something. Too weird.

SSDD

Well, the head manager is letting the thief stay on. The poor girl that he screwed out of hours was so upset when I talked to her today. I can't blame her. What really irks me is the head manager always complains about the thief and says he doesn't want him working there anymore and yet he's had two, count them ONE TWO, chances to get rid of the creep and yet he's still employed. I sooo don't get it.

On a bright note, school is going REALLY well. I can hardly wait for the computer classes, though. I'm seriously thinking about learning how to paint. I know I'd be good at it. My teacher was telling me about someplace downtown that offers painting lessons. After I find a job and move back to town, I'm going to do it.

I just got through reading "Harry Potter and the Sorcerer's Stone." Yeah, I'm behind the times. I actually borrowed that book from a friend last Christmas and I found it the other day and figured I'd better read it and return it before it gets packed. Good book. I wish I had the rest of them, but alas, I'll have to wait until I get $$$. I really wanted to make sure I read the book before I saw the DVD. It's one of my next Netflix choices.
