Man, the weather was gorgeous today. It made it to 70° F -- in mid-February. Too bad I was stuck working inside a store that was way hotter than it needed to be. The stupid manager that closed last night left the ovens running, but he did remember to turn off the exhaust vents. The opening manager told me it was hotter than you-know-what in there when he arrived and the store was full of carbon monoxide and gas fumes. It wasn't too bad while the doors were propped open, but the manager had to close the doors once the store opened. We couldn't turn on the swamps, either. They've been winterized and there is still the chance of freezing weather (it still being February). Of course, they actually got busy, for once, and I had a lot more dough to do than I was expecting. The heat was making the dough all soft and sticky. Yuck. It took me forever to finish. I'll be done relatively early tomorrow and I'm off on Monday and it's supposed to be cold and snowy. Pooh.

Just got a bummer email from my friend Reverie. She's been laid off from AT&T. She has just moved into a new apartment to be closer to work. That totally bites.

Dad took me to the Armadillo restraurant for lunch today. Mmmm, burrito supreme. I really wanted a sopapilla for dessert, but I was sooooooo full. I need to learn how to make those myself, I guess.
Dad's cat has triggered a major allergy attack. I feel like pooh right now. Marcus is at his friend's place this evening. They're trying to start a web hosting company, so I'm all alone. :o( Of course, if he was here, he'd be on his computer and I'd be in the same boat. I'm a technology widow.
My hard drive on my laptop is full. I don't even have enough room to print pictures for scrapbooking. I need another computer. I want a Mac. Preferably a G4 with a 22" Cinema display, but I'd take a new iMac. I'm dreaming again. (Pinch self, wake up)

1. Hey, baby, what's your sign? Do you think it fits you pretty well?
Virgo. I'm definitely a Virgo.
2. What's the worst birthday gift you've ever received?
I went to Greeley to celebrate my birthday with my boyfriend while I was back living at home to do my student teaching in Aurora. First he took me to dinner, gave me a walkman, then told me he was sleeping with someone else and didn't want to see me anymore.
3. What's the best birthday gift you've ever received?
We celebrate our friend Mike's and my birthdays at a joint party every year since the two are only a week apart. At the first one we had after Marcus and I started going out, he replaced my entire Van Halen vinyl record collection with CD's.
4. What's the best way you've celebrated your birthday thus far?
At the same party mentioned above, he sprung for a female stripper for Mike and a male stripper for me. They arrived as a couple and Mike thought they were friends of mine and I thought they were friends of his. SUPRISE! It was a hoot!
5. What are your plans for this weekend?
Working and housecleaning. Marcus' folks are coming in less than a month.

I had a pretty good day today. Every now and then I just get the urge and I take off driving somewhere. I didn't have much to do at work. I had planned to go to my dad's, but since I left the stuff I needed to take to him at home, I headed for Colorado Springs. It drives Marcus crazy when I do that. We used to live down there and I kind of miss it. It's so dang pretty there. I love looking off to the west and seeing Pike's Peak looming there. If I had a really good paying job, I wouldn't mind living there again. We were really, really, really poor the last time. I used to sell my plasma so we could eat every week. *shudder* I used to doorhang flyers on people's doors, too. I was amazed how familiar all those neighborhoods I used to walk were. It's been like seven or eight years since we lived there. I was also floored by how big the Springs has gotten. Oh, well. They got some snow last night. I like checking out craft stores, so I did that. A lot of the stores I used to frequent are totally gone now. I was kind of sad. I guess they can't compete with Hobby Lobby, Michaels and WalMart. :(
I cut Marcus' hair for him tonight. I also cut my knuckle. Owwww. I messed up the back a bit, but that's the risk he takes to save a few bucks. I'm all covered in tiny little hairs and I itch like crazy, but I can't take a shower until he cleans up the mess of hair in the bathroom. We also discovered (at a really bad time) that we are out of vacuum cleaner bags and the one in the vacuum is totally full. I wish the somebody who used the last bag would've mentioned it. Oh, well, I'll get some tomorrow.
I saw something really funny today. I was behind one of those trucks that pump out septic systems. I think the company was Colorado Pumping. Anyway, the saying painted on the back said "A Royal Flush beats a Full House." Hee Hee
