Tag Game on Random Words

I have been tagged by Yoshi to play a game where the last person gives you 5 words and you say the first thing you think of...then you tag others who then continue the tagging game...so here we go:

1. Chute : Ladder
2. Picnic : Basket
3. Concert : Ticket
4. World : Wrestling
5. Beach : Sand

The next five random words are:

1. horse
2. sew
3. paint
4. broken
5. scream

The tagged bloggers are:

MacDude
R A D H O L E
LaLaGirl
Wondering Why
I'm a loser and don't have a 5th person to tag (that hasn't already been tagged)! Let me know if you want to play along in the comments.

It All Happens for a Reason

The meeting I was supposed to have with the new placement person yesterday was cancelled. I was a little bummed by it, but there really wasn't anything I could do to change it. I keep telling myself that these things happen for a reason. This time I saw the reason immediately. We rescheduled for today and I happened to be meeting with the placement person when one of my old instructors (and a former placement person herself) stopped in to say hi. She's looking for some temporary help with one of her endeavors, so I'm stopping by to meet her business partner tomorrow. Hopefully this will get cash coming in now and lead to more contract type work in the future.

Stupid Power Outage

I hate it when you have a power outage (and your battery backup is dead and you can't afford to replace it) and all of your open Firefox tabs, BBEdit windows, etc. are all gone. *sigh* Wish I had saved some of that stuff at one point.

I hate it how scattered my mind has been lately. I really wish I could concentrate. The first thing I'm doing after I get a job is get new glasses. I didn't realize how much I depended on them until they're gone. It doesn't help that the blogging world seems to think that smaller is better for type size. I thought the problem was the Cinema display I normally surf on with its 1680x1050 screen resolution, but no...my laptop is set to 1024x768 and I constantly have to ctrl+ the type to make it legible. I've thought about leaving snarky comments on such sites, but why? It's their business how they want their sites to look. I need to learn to let things like that go and stop trying to be such a control freak.

Cupcake Carrier

I check out Jenna Fischer's (aka Pam from The Office) myspace page once in awhile. Her cousin-in-law has invented a cool product I'd like to get called the Cupcake Courier. The price tag of $32.99 plus s/h is a little steep, but the thing holds 36 cupcakes or muffins and you won't smash the frosting or get the cupcakes all stuck to each other. One of the reasons I rarely make cupcakes anymore is because there is no good way to store them. When I'm rolling in money again, I'll definitely check this one out.
