Have you ever noticed that during the morning hours on television (between 9 and noon) that there is an overabundance of trade school commercials? In the last hour, while watching Regis and Kelly, I have seen commercials for the Denver School of Massage Therapy(three times), CollegeAmerica, Platt College (twice), Bel-rea Insitute for Veterinary Training, Westwood College(twice), Denver Career College(twice). I'm sure I missed a couple of them. It's the same with lawyer commercials, too. They really go after those that can't or aren't working for some reason, don't they?
Thankfully, come Monday morning, I won't be around to see them.
I start my new job on Monday!
Yay me!!!!! *happy dance*

Well, something is still wrong with me. I took my antibiotics, I took my Monistat to cure the resulting yeast infection and I still have the same problem I had a month ago. Damn, this is getting really old.
This wouldn't be so bad if I had health insurance, but I don't. Why can't these people just run the tests they need to, perscribe the right medicine and be done with it. "Well, your symptoms indicate it might be this...take this medicine and if you don't feel better, come back and we'll run another test." It's like mechanics that keep replacing parts until they stumble on the correct one instead of running diagnostic tests and replacing the broken part the first time.
I tried selling a bunch of stuff on eBay again to raise the money to go to the doctor. Sadly, nobody wants my stuff. Only two things that I listed this time sold and I raised a total of less than $15 (after fees). That won't even pay for an office visit. *sigh* eBay is definitely for buyers, not sellers. Unless you have something really rare or your business is based on something that people need alot like ink cartridges or computer parts, you're not going to become rich selling there. It also makes me feel bad that I own all of this stuff and it is basically worthless to anyone but me.

Here's another reason to hate Daylight Saving Time: EE doesn't handle it well. Grrrrr.

Wow, we got a
little bit of snow yesterday. We got well over a foot here in Aurora. When Marcus came to bed at 4 a.m. Sunday, he told me it was just raining, so I decided to sleep in for another hour. By 5:30, I had 3–4 inches of snow on the car. Power kept blipping out at work. It took me well over an hour to get home on the side streets (between the blinding snow and the totally covered Southbound traffic lights). I was amazed at the amounts of dumbasses out driving without their headlights on and without cleaning the cars off. Cleaning a one foot section so you can see out the windshield is totally unacceptable. Oh, and if you're afraid to drive more than 5 miles per hour,
STAY HOME!
When I got home, I rousted Marcus out of bed so that we could hit the grocery store. We had absolutely no food here. He wanted bagels for breakfast, so we head out for Einstein Bros. and they were closed. He was disappointed, but least Marcus was having fun driving around in his truck. Traffic around I-70/Airport/Pena Blvd. was at a standstill. Several semis and busses had slid off the road or jack-knifed and were totally blocking the highways and ramps.
Marcus wanted Starbucks and they were open, but we decided to grab the groceries first. By the time we had finished, though, Starbucks had closed. Marcus was soooooo mad. We went home and he was complaining about needing his Starbucks fix. We decided to take the new vehicle out because Marcus needed gas to get to work in the morning and he wanted to see how it handled in the snow. We figured that while we were out, we'd try another Starbucks. I took some pictures of him and Skippy out in the snow. You can see them
here. Of course, by this time, almost everybody had closed up. The shopping center at Abilene/Alameda looked like a ghost town. After he got gas, we went home and Marcus had to brew his own coffee. Poor baby.
I don't know if they closed the place where I work yesterday or not. As usual, I got absolutely no phone calls from anybody. I know there were no school orders this morning because I was watching the school closings last night before I went to sleep and their districts were listed. I still got a small bump of excitement when I saw Platt on the closing list until I realized I don't go there anymore. *sigh* I don't really want to go to work if they were closed yesterday because there won't be anything to make. I can't call until 11, because nobody answers the phones until then. That's another pet peeve I have about that place. Even if the phone rings at 10:58 and all work is done and everybody is standing around picking their noses, you can't answer the phone. Losers. Anyway, it would be really nice if the manager would call and tell me not to come in, but I'm not holding my breath.
I just came in from helping Marcus clean off his vehicle so he could get to work. I cleaned off my own car and shovelled the steps while I was out there. It is already warming up out there and temps are supposed to be in the 70s by Wednesday. There probably won't be much evidence that we even had a storm by then. Ah, Colorado weather—gotta love it!

Since it will be about a week or so before I actually begin working my new job, I've decided to give my house a throrough spring cleaning: dusting, windows, carpets, everything. I'm concentrating on a room a day. That should be manageable. Today I tackle the bedroom. I am also going to get my web site finished for school so I'm not trying to do it the night before graduation (Chrissy told me she thinks it is May 21) or some other such stupid thing. If I don't write much over the next few days, that's what I'm doing.
