Lite Brite

I love watching TechTv's "The Screensavers". Not only are the hosts totally funny, but you find links to things that you can't live without. An example is the online Lite Brite. I never got to have one of these as a little kid. I was so jealous of all the kids I knew that had them. Now I have my own virtual one (until all the traffic from being linked on TechTv causes servers to crash, etc). They mentioned a site about "people for the unethical treatment of pumpkins", but alas, the hits have caused that page to go down already. I'll have to check back on that one later, I guess.

Well, Marcus is on his way home from work for an evening of Survivor, Friends, and CSI. Must get a pizza from Freshway since I am not in any mood whatsoever to do any type of food preparation.

Off The Market

Current mood: happy
Yay, it's the end of the school week and I get to go home!

We just did a lab in Unix class that took the whole class period. It wasn't hard if you paid attention all week. Everything you needed to accomplish it was in the handouts or supposed to be in your notes. I can't believe how badly some people can screw things up. Makes you wonder why they want to be in computers. Class ended fifteen minutes ago, but half of them are still in there trying to finish. The guy sitting next to me was totally lost. The guy who normally sits next to him and helps him wasn't there today. I'm more than happy to help somebody with a little tiny thing, but I'm not going to do your work for you. When I left class a half hour ago, he didn't have any of the lab done. Sad.

Marcus agreed to let our house be taken off the market yesterday. That's one less stress I have to deal with right now. Somebody wanted to look at it today and I didn't really feel like getting it in a showing condition at the last minute. We're not prepared to move right now, anyway. Those car repairs I've had to make recently kicked my ass. I'm not making any more money at work even though dough usage has gone way up. Making a major change in our living arrangement right now just never felt right. I need to concentrate on fixing my employment situation first, I think.

Well, I'm going to go rustle up some lunch. I haven't had a thing to eat today. My poor tummy is starting to rumble.

Chill Out People

I'm getting a little tired of TV and radio. All they are doing is sensationalizing everything and creating unnecessary panic. It's driving me nuts. More people die from the flu (a communicable virus not killed by antibiotics) than are dying from this Anthrax thing. They don't close down the House of Representatives when the flu is going around. I know people are scared because this is not a natural thing that is happening and I understand that, but dang, chill out. I know that sounds insenstive, but read below:

Wrong Flour

Current mood: blah
I don't know what's wrong with me today. I'm not really tired, just here.

The food delivery service we use delivered baker's flour (like cake flour) to one of the stores instead of the hi-gluten flour (bread flour) that we use to make dough. Of course, I didn't notice until I was throwing the empty bags away. I guess the dough is going to be rising funny towards the end of the week. They're supposed to come pick up the rest of the wrong stuff and bring the right flour. If not, no dough being made tomorrow. Can you tell I really care?

It's quite windy again today. My allergies are loving that.

Poor Marcus got stuck at work for over 14 hours yesterday. The advertising department's sever took a major dump. He said the advertising departmenthad to go home today while they fix this. I can't understand why they don't have a backup server set up to take over in cases such as this. I don't know enough about WinNT to know if it can do that. I know they're in the process of switching over to Win2K and I know it has that capability. I'll have to ask him about that when he gets home.

We didn't get much done in Unix class today. We're still having hard drive problems. Argh! Not only that, but there is not enough install disks, so we have to take twice as much time as needed to get anything done. Half the class gets to sit while the other half the class does the excercise. Pain in the butt. It's Unix, it's open source, copy some more damn cd's.

Well, I'm making meat loaf for dinner and it's almost done, so I better get cracking on the sides. I'll bring you some, Dad!
