Stupid Weather

Well, this figures. I got up really early today so I could get dough done before the moron managers get there and there is two inches of snow on the ground and I'm having to wait for the car to warm up. The weather people said there would be a dusting of snow, if that. Dang it. Now it's going to take me way over an hour to get to town. Watch there be nothing in town at all. I haven't listened to the news yet, but the overnight guy on KOA (Rick Barber) said something about driving carefully as he ended his shift. Yay!

Like An Energizer Bunny

Current mood: working bear busy
Wow, I'm actually having a pretty productive day. Amazing how much better I feel when the temperature is in the 50s as opposed to below freezing. I'm just taking a quick break while my lunch cooks and then back to my list. I've already taken out the trash, picked up dog poo, raked up leaves and weeds from the yard, changed the oil in my car, gone to the store (out of paper towels), packed up the remaining Christmas junk sitting around so I can take it to storage later, done two loads of laundry and ran a load of dishes. Whoo Hoo! As soon as I eat, I'm going to wash the car. I haven't done that in ages! Poor thing has been so neglected. Well, back to it.

I’m Hating Right Now

I am so sick of winter already. I hate being cold, I hate dry dusty air, I hate chilling winds. Most of all I hate short days. The sad thing is that this winter hasn't been all that bad. Maybe that's one of the problems--no moisture equals murder on my sinuses. This kind of weather is worse on my allergies than anything. It's really cold and dry and the furnace being on all the time makes it worse. ICK! (grumble, grumble)

To make matters worse, I just searched the job boards at Monster and Hotjobs and there is zilch. I need to get dressed and find Sunday's paper outside. I'm not feeling too encouraged about what I might find in there, either, but I've got to go look. I went to CollegeAmerica on Friday to look at the job board and the only thing on there was an ad for a research project for people who hadn't yet graduated. Lame.

Marcus and I have been having a MAJOR disagreement the last few days. It just seems like everything is going wrong all at once.

Well, I have to figure out how to pay some bills with my miniscule paycheck I just got. I think I need to sell some stuff on eBay. Oh, boy.

Friday Five

Friday Five

1. What do you have your browser start page set to?
iWon.com: I get five points everytime I open the browser to improve my chances of becoming a millionaire. Hey, a girl can dream, can't she?

2. What are your favorite news sites?
I don't go to news sites. I get enough news on the radio during the day.

3. Favorite search engine?
What else? Google

4. When did you first get online?
January, 1999. Has it only been three years? Marcus got himself a Biondi Blue iMac for his birthday and we've been online ever since.

5. How do you plan to spend your weekend?
Snowman door kitLooking for a new job is going to be tops on the list of to-dos this weekend. I'm going to scavenge parts of three old computers Marcus brought home to build a Linux box so I learn to be a Unix administrator. I'm also going to work on this snowman kit I bought half-off at an after-Christmas sale.

If the weather would warm up, I'd clean out my car. The weatherpeople aren't giving me much hope of that, though.
