I would've done these sooner, but the site has been down and I just came across a blog today that had answered the questions, so here they are:
1. What is your favorite restaurant and why?
I don't have really expensive tastes in restaurants as I feel really out of place in expensive, hoity-toity places. My favorite place has got to be Hops Steakhouse followed closely by Red Lobster. Hops has got the BEST affordable steak. I love Red Lobster because I don't know how to prepare seafood at home and I just love shrimp and they prepare it so many ways!
2. What fast food restaurant are you partial to?
The Hamburger Stand (I absolutely love their chili cheese dogs). They're also relatively inexpensive and the one close to work makes good iced tea.
3. What are your standards and rules for tipping?
As a person who has worked for tips, I tip rather generously. I always give at least 20% unless the service was attrocious and then the server is lucky to get $1.00. I can only remember twice in my life where I left no tip at all. Things like refilling drinks without being asked, not ignoring us once the entrees arrive, good attitude, anticipating our needs are all things that help increase the tip.
4. Do you usually order an appetizer and/or dessert?
I ususally don't order either as the meal portions are more than enough to fill me up. The only exception is when I'm at BeauJo's Pizza and then I HAVE to get the stuffed mushrooms. I absolutely LOVE them. I've tried to recreate them at home but I just can't get them quite right.
5. What do you usually order to drink at a restaurant?
On an extremely rare, special occasion I'll have an adult beverage. I ususally get one when my dad takes me out for my birthday and once in a while I'll have a drink with dinner with my friend Dave. Other than that, I'd rather have a glass of fresh-brewed iced tea with my meal (not that pre-made Lipton crap that some places are carrying now).

Sorry I haven't posted lately. No news is good news, though, huh? Seriously, I've been a little caught up in spring-type projects like housecleaning, yard work, etc. Marcus and I decided that we are going to get some grass in the yard this year. I'm tired of the dirt and burrs that the dogs drag in. I'm also working on setting up Movabletype on Marcus' friend's webserver, so the blog will live at its new home in the next week or so. I'm about fed up with not being able to get on Blogger when I do have a free moment to post something. I've also been taking some road trips to Loveland, Fort Collins and Colorado Springs to get a change of pace.
I've got lots of things going on in my head that I need to sort out and some major life changes I need to make in the near future. I've got myself in an extremely unhealthy rut. I saw a woman at a store today so morbidly overweight that she couldn't breathe and had to use a cane to walk. That could be me very soon if I don't do something about the condition I've let myself get into. I've always thought I looked better than I really do. I saw a picture that Marcus took of me when we were photographing the bunnies for Easter and I was in shock about how truly fat I have become. I saw myself waddle for the first time in a store window the other day. Not good. Not good at all.
Marcus passed this along to me. If you're not a geek, sorry, it's probably not very funny.
Dr. Seuss Explains Why Computers Sometimes Crash
If a packet hits a pocket on a socket on a port,
and the bus in interrupted at a very last resort,
and the access of the memory makes your floppy disk abort,
then the socket packet pocket has an error to report.
If your cursor finds a menu item followed by a dash,
and the double-clicking icon puts your window in the trash,
and your data is corrupted 'cause the index doesn't hash,
then your situation's hopeless and your system's gonna crash!
If the label on the cable on the table at your house
says the network is connected to the button on your mouse,
but your packets want to tunnel to another protocol,
that?s repeatedly rejected by the printer down the hall,
and your screen is all distorted by the side effects of gauss,
so your icons in the window are as wavy as a souse;
then you may as well reboot and go out with a bang,
?cuz sure as I?m a poet, the sucker?s gonna hang!
When the copy of your floppy?s getting sloppy in the disk,
and the macro code instructions cause unnecessary risk,
then you?ll have to flash the memory and you?ll want to RAM your ROM,
then quickly turn off the computer and be sure to tell your Mom!

Man, I totally forgot to do this last week, also. What the heck did I do last weekend?
EIGHT FROM THE EIGHTIES
1) Are you true blue?
I don't exactly know what true blue means. If it means loyal, faithful, etc., most definitely (if I feel you deserve it); however, if you screw me over, WATCH OUT!
2) When's the last time you went steppin' out?
If you mean dancing, it had to be in 1990 or thereabouts. I haven't been dancing since college as Marcus doesn't dance and he and I have been together almost 10 years now. As for just going out in general, we did go out for a really nice dinner at the Stagecoach Steak House here in town last night, thus the late posting of these answers.
3) What's something your parents just don't understand?
Why I refuse to have children. Marcus' mom doesn't get it, either.
4) What are sweet dreams made of?
A bubble bath for two, soft music, candlelight, no work the next day... Oh, wait, I'm definitely dreaming.
5) Are you prone to burning down the house?
Even though I'm a self-proclaimed pyromaniac, I've never come close to burning down anything. Well, there was the one time I was a little kid that I lit Kleenex on fire with a birthday candle and it landed on the carpet. Marcus...that's a totally different story. HA!
6) It's the end of the world as you know it. How do you feel?
It depends. Is my life getting better or worse?
7) Are you going to Wang Chung tonight?
I've never really known what that meant, either. But since I'm going to finish typing this and go to bed because daylight savings time always kicks my ass, probably not.
8) Why can't I get, just one... ?
Winning lottery ticket.

I was just cleaning out my mail box and found this from my friend Traci from over a year ago. I really need to clean that thing out more often.
Child of the 80s:- You know what "Psych" means.
- You know the profound meaning of "Wax on, Wax off."

- You Believed that "By the power of Greyskull, you HAD the power!"

- You actually thought "Dirty Dancing" was a REALLY good movie.
- You remember when ATARI was a state of the art video game system.
- You owned any cassettes.
- You were led to believe that in the year 2000 we'd all be living on the moon. Instead we're sending people to live on deserted islands with nothing but the clothes on their backs for 39 days vying for a million dollars

- You remember and/or owned any of the Care Bear Glass collection from Pizza Hut or the Muppets glasses from McDonalds...and drank out of them with a crazy straw.
- Poltergeist freaked you out.

- You had to come in the house when the street lights came on.
- You had to change into *play* clothes after school.

- Somehow you still know all the words to songs played on VH1's"Big 80's."
- Your arm was full of rubber bracelets, tied together of course.
- You have ever said, "Gag me with a spoon."

- You had to get up to change the channel.
- You can still sing 1 to 12 from the Pinball machine on Sesame Street: "Onetwothreefourfive..sixseveneightnineten...eleven...twelve!"
If you can identify with at least half of this list then you, my friend, are a "Child of the 80s".
